What is Wealthy Affiliate Ranking, Should we Care?

Have you ever asked yourself this question: what is the ranking at WA for, why should I pay attention to it?

Since I've joined WA I was pretty curious about the ranking and how it works?

How does it work?

I would be lying if I tell you I know exactly how the ranking at WA work, the truth is I start to realize what is it for.

+ 100 000

When you joined WA your position is something like 100 000 and more, I don't really remember to be honest.

Few days later it will start to drop fast or slowly depending how active you're on WA.
After a month you would probably reach 10 000 or something like that, keep in mind that it depends on your activity within WA.
I remembered I've reached the 2 000 spot or something like that at some point and was pretty happy, then because I wasn't active for almost 1 month my ranking dropped.
Some WA members were able to reach the Top 200 Spot in about 3 or 4 months, I'm pretty jealous, because I've been there for almost 7 months and I'm still at 938 today, Lol. A week earlier I was at +10 000.

OK Numbers Are Good but Does it Matter in this Situation?

Before I dive deeper, I have an affirmation about the ranking at WA:

YES IT MATTERS

but not in the way you would think. The best Advice I can give to all new members is:

DON'T STRESS ABOUT IT.

So What is the Reason Behind the WA Ranking Existence?

I'm not the creators of WA, so my answer will never be the ultimate truth, only their creators Kyle and Carson know.

However, I'm sure of this:

Paying attention to your ranking at WA will only have benefits on your journey as becoming an affiliate marketer and make a living of it.

AS you see your ranking every time you're connected at WA, you will know if you're putting the effort and time to reach your goal:

The freedom to work whenever and wherever you want to.

It's also a good reminder on your journey.

Conclusion

What I always appreciate at WA is we are free to learn and do whatever we want, everything is here for you to build a success story.

One thing that will slow us down is feeling to be lost, having a ranking is a good reminder that tell us if we've done everything we can to be successful.

If you're in the Bootcamp having a good ranking is definitely something you want, your visitors and future referrals will have more faith in what you propose to them.

Hi Calvin,

I don't pay much attention to rankings within WA. I am here to build a successful affiliate marketing website that I can only do with the help of the WA community.

That being said...

There are many posts by WA members that interest me and, if I take the time to read them, I usually take the time to offer an opinion or a fresh perspective.

That's why I keep a fairly stable status on the high side of the top 200. But, since I rarely post WA blogs myself, I will never improve my WA ranking significantly - and that's very OK.

Jim

I think each of us doesn't really know what they will do when they joined WA then we start to develop some skills and acquired knowledge and finally we focus on what we want to accomplish.

Depending on what we want to accomplish, some of us will choose not to be very active in WA and instead focus on their activities.

They also found success so why not?

I also don't really care so much about ranking, but ranking helps me to stay focus and tell me to log in WA every day and if I can participate in the activities within WA.

As I see my ranking getting better, it gives me confidence and the excitement to keep going. For me, it's really more a stimulus than anything else.

The time I spend on WA as a beginner is a time well spent I believe, I need to assimilate as much as I can and being present is a good step forward.

It's better than wasting my time on other futile things like watching videos, movies or playing games, Lol.

Great insight!
Well done Calvin

Thanks, Boaz Ethan.

Hi CalvinC
Thank you for this post . Much appreciated
Regards
David

Thanks for reading it, David.

Wish you the best.

Hi Calvin. I get a real buzz out of seeing my ranking drop every day. I love it. I have been in WA for 17 days and have got to just above 20,000, which I am really pleased with.

My goal is to be under 200 within 6 months.

Watch this space!

You have a very interesting profile Jon and a lot of experiences, I'm sure you will get there a lot faster.

I have to double my effort, Lol.

Thanks for sharing

You're welcome.

It is a mainstay Calvin!

Yes and I think it's good that way.

In case you have not seen this Calvin, it may help. It is from Carson on the WA ranking subject:

Thanks for the tips, already bookmarked it as a must read.

Thanks for your post. I have been here about a month, wondered if that was anything I should be worried about..happy when I saw it going up, etc. But watch out!! lol..If life interferes and you get busy on other things, it will go back down. It is interesting to watch.

Yes, definitely it's interesting to watch.

I like to see it to see my progress, my goal is, of course, to be in the Top 200.

Welcome to WA and wish you the best.

Hi Calvin,
That is a great article because it tells us to mindful of your rank but not to be obsessive about it. I like to help people in what way I can, I am not very technical about some things, but again I will do my best. Thanks for sharing.

Bill

Thanks, Bill and Sue.

It's very satisfying to be able to help peoples.

Wish you the best.

WTF. Have you tried contacting SiteSupport instead? They should probably know better of the spam dangers.

Thanks, Zarina.
Another great idea.
I want to expose this SCUM first.
I'm am not the first or last.
Again, thanks!
Paul

I'm not quite sure How I got it here.
It did lead me to your excellent solution.
Thanks

Did you solve the problem?

Wordpress has some very good anti-spam plugins, one of them is Askimet.

However you should just ignore them, it's not the last time you will receive them.

I also received a lot of Facebook Scams since I've created my account. To not affect my mood, I just delete them, Lol. But it's really a waste of time as I need to check one by one who is it first.
