So What Part of "Content Is King" Are You Having Trouble With?

In Lesson 3 of Level 2 among other places, Kyle preaches the virtues of content. Rankings, SEO, domain name, keywords, whatever. Everything takes a back seat to content. You can have the most technologically advanced site on the web, but it won't amount to a hill of beans if you don't have quality content. Content IS King. But no matter how great the visuals, or how relevant the content is to your niche, it won't amount to a bag of rice if the copy is rife with misspelled words and grammatical errors.

This is why Kyle so vociferously admonishes us to take advantage of the spell and grammar check tool. With it at our disposal, there is absolutely no reason why we should be posting content replete with errors.

Like Kyle says in the lesson, the spell/grammar check won't catch everything. It won't catch words that are spelled right but used wrong, like "to" for "too." But it will catch a heck of a lot and we can catch the rest if we just carefully read through the copy before posting it.

The same goes for our blogs and replies to each other. Do I really expect someone to take my advice if it reads like it was written by a 5th grader? I don't think so. You can have the best advice in the world, but if nobody reads it, nobody takes it.

Hey, I'm not just pulling this topic out of my you-know-what. I've seen some pretty bad stuff. Most of it is just carelessness. We can do better. If we expect to succeed, we must do better. If necessary, have your wife, husband, sister, brother, or that egghead across the street proofread your copy for you. We are professional business people. We must put our best foot forward at all times.

I agree and your blog appears more trustworthy if the grammar is correct.

It's true that a bad spelling can make
the people think that we are not very serious.
