WA: A Great Way to Make Up for Lost Time!
I had high hopes for my retirement. Life was gonna be great. Travel, fishing, sailing, you know; all of the things retired people are supposed to do. The money was not going to be a problem. I had a great job; credit union savings account, 401k - all of that.
Enter life. As a result of riotous living, medical issues, bad planning, and some other things I will carry to the grave, by the time I hit 65, I was barely getting by, with retirement not an option. It was hardly a consolation, but I was not alone.
Not by a long shot. In this country of unparalleled economic opportunity, 21% of married people over sixty five and 43% of single people over sixty five depend on Social Security for 90% of their income!
So it's safe to say that many of them (us) depend on Social Security for the bulk of their (our) income. Not a good place to be in the twilight of life. Were all of my dreams to come to naught? Was I destined to work right up until I climed into the casket? What about the cruises?
No, No, and start planning, man! Wealthy Affiliates is giving me the opportunity to recoup all of the income I let slip through my fingers during my unbridled youth. In a few months, or maybe a year or so, I expect to be making at least as much money as I would have had if I had retired at the top of my profession. I've still got time - and I'll have the money - to enjoy some of the good life. That feels pretty good. Let's see now...Royal Cruise Lines or Carnival? Hmmm...
