I have more than a few very good chat friends here in WA, well many more than a few, a bunch. And I also still have a grip of the old-timers from way back and I love WA, the help, the friends, Shannon, Catherine, Nurse Becca and many more.

And times change, still fun, for now by some random cat, Joe and Shannon are now our morning chat managers. How cool is that? They both ended up with a job, no pay. gosh!! But they are both such great spirits with their emotional smiles, encouragement, and knowledge. Okay, Shannon has that one nailed, that smiling amazing woman knows a grip of how this stuff works, her and The Catherine, get their attention and your getting jewels bigger than diamonds.

Joe, I really enjoy this man, a mans man as he presents himself, always tring to do his best, believes in the mission here, never gives up.

This blog is for you Joe.

Now, Joe wanted to see Macy's Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving, these are some pics from before Thanksgiving. My ice rink by the way Joe, I was complaining about it, only played one Christmas song an hour before thanksgiving. now, just a tad different.

So my good buddy Joe. Big ol tree, windows full of decorations, and behind me, bigger tree.

They used to do a Christmas tree lighting celibration on Black Friday and it was a big event, however this year they did it on the 18th, and kept it pretty small even. The leaders of the city where there so there were cops everywhere in the square that night but not that many in people showed up for not many knew about it. This is the View from just outside my Zam condo. In the afternoons and evenings it becomes a tourist trap, and a pain for me to get out of my area and out over to check on my chiller machine. So I have created 3 different ways for me to exit this area and work my way through the crowd.

There is another great shot of Macy's, the whole block is one great big Macy's department store.

And here is a view of her at night before black friday, now the streets are crazy with cars and people. And becuase of the smash and dash profesional criminals lots of police too now. Amazing how much more peaceful it is when the police just hang out on the corners.

I like getting these shots in the afternoon as the sun is going down, this is the part of the day I can start sending the temperature backup and not work the chiller machine so hard. It also makes for a good shot by lighting up the buildings in a different way making them realy stand out on the clear and bright blue days as it was here in this day. That is not always the case here in San Francisco, but for the last week it has been and I have gotten some great photos of the city.

Well, there is a little tour of life around my ice rink, or on the Macy's side of my ice rink here at Union Square in downtown San Francisco. Hope you all enjoy and thank Joe for the post for he inspired it.

I have a nephew in San Francisco, and a sister in SanDiego.
I'll be looking forward to my next trip out west!
Last time I was in Frisco was 1968, when my brother was a hippy, and my Mom took us out to check on him.
That was extremely groovey for a 10th grader!
Thanks for sharing these beautiful pics, Scott!
Happy holidays!
Barb

Frisco does look an interesting place to visit for sure Scott!

As temperatures dip in the winter months I imagine that keeping the rink under control becomes easier am I right?

Great shout out to the wonderful community members who think of nothing when helping out in live chat day in day out!

Laters...

It is 80 degrees here today, 27c and full sun. At least I do not have the wind to work around. My ice is nice today and ready as always for them pesky skaters to go out and scratch up my ice. Lol. My Chiller machine is working overtime at the moment but the sun is soon to part ways and then the chiller machine goes into idle mode. When the temp drops, and there is cloud cover I do not need to work the chiller so hard. Today is not one of those days, but what awesome photos it creates.

Mel, Joe, Batman, Shannon, Catherine, so many here that are very helpful, and at least most of them put up with me, Sir Talk a Lot. Hahah.

Thanks for stopping in an enjoying the photo's

Laters, The Zam man

It’s almost Christmas. Preparing for promotions now, Macys looks spectacular.
Stephen

Macy's is a big sponsor here in Downtown San Francisco as well as New York. That store in New York was in a famous movie years ago.

Love your Humor.

Miracle on 34th Street. Still a great movie today. :-)

Mel

The oldies are my besties, Meloi. I was in love with Audrey Hepburn as a youngster. Lol.

Sounds like you fell out of love, Steve. Sorry to hear that. :-)

Mel

For a while I fell out of everything, lol.

What amazing photos. Had no idea Macys looked so spectacular in San Francisco.

Thanks for your post.

Ya, is it not amazing? I got pics of the other side in black and red with lights on my way back from Trader Joes a few evenings ago but I filed them somewhere else and could not find them for this blog, and that was the intention of taking those pics. Oh, they are great photo's too so still learning a photo file system. And those pics will make their way into a later blog or post.

Now to go to New York and get photos from there.

Super happy everyone is enjoying the photo's

Wow, amazing pics Scott and thanks so much for the post!! You're the best!!

You rock, glad to do it.

Hey, aren't you supposed to be working Joe! ;-)

Mel

I have been, just not at Macy's and unfortunately, not with Scott.

I did not see him in chat this morning when I scared everyone away. Just his sidekick Shannon.
