ICE RINK IN A WAREHOUSE

Today I am the Ice Tech at a Ice Rink that is inside of a warehouse. One great thing about an Ice Rink being inside a building is no wind worries, sunlight, rain, and all the other goodies nature is famous for bringing in a day. Set the machine, get the ice doing it's thing and it's all easy peaches during the run.

Of course there is still the most famous part of any Ice Rink and that is the Zamboni!! I get to work weekends for the next month running the Zamboni. I picked up some extra work and therefore some extra income and I have fun doing it. In fact I am writing this waiting for the next ice resurface.

The skaters are all here practicing for a show being put on board a cruse ship this summer. Think of that folks, someone is going to build and run an Ice Rink on board a ship, big ol boat. Them generators on board have to be massive for I know how much power is needed to run the chiller machine. I do hope I get that phone call, get paid to work on a cruse ship doing something I love to do!

If not, that is okay also for I will “HUSTLE”, that is “How U survive through life everyday.” Making ice and playing on the Zamboni is not the only game in town and I do not restrick myself being stuck in any one thing. I like variety, that is why my truck has crazy wild green rims on it. And that is why my woman and I play different game's, like she is wearing a red wig for me on our next date night together and we are going to play. Of course my part of it is I wear the long hair wig riding up on a Harley.

Variety is fun and it also keeps me employed. I like challenges and new things, places and meeting new wonderful people. Just like the many I have meet here at WA with all the wonderful places we all live at all over the world. And we all do different things in life, I get the privilege of learning from that.

Working with professional skaters or even amateur skaters I have noticed the same thing about them again and again. They are all very healthy, they snack often yet it is always a fruit for the most part. And they warm up their body before practice or the show. The main thing that makes them money is their body, and they take care of their body's. That got me to thinking, they are doing something they love, and they are providing a memory for others to reflect on over the years. They teach others how to skate, and they are all on the same team, even when competing. At least the skaters I have meet are this way. And they all take great care of their physical well being. They are healthy people!

So I am blessed and grateful to be here today, working and doing my thing also at the same time and learning a lesson from these skaters here practicing for an upcoming show. What I have learned and thought about today is that by taking care of themselves, that in turn allows them to be creative with vibrant energy that is needed to help create memories for so many others warming their hearts and souls. They take care of themselves first so they can help create for others.

I sometimes wonder why I am breathing!! I have beat my body so much over the years yet my body just keeps on giving and giving. I go without so the show, the job or the task at hand can be completed. It is time I rethink that whole way of being, for I can not keep up as I have been and wholly expect to live for another 60 or 70 years. I must learn and adapt to love taking care of myself, eat fresh foods and drink half my weight in liters every day of water.

What about you, are you taking care of yourself or do you beat your body hoping for the next big break or I have to take care of “Blank” mentality?

Funny how we live like we are supermen until a certain point in our life we realize we have to make changes. Just wish I had realized this years earlier. Best wishes for you and your mission of improving your life.

I started in production almost 10 years ago, most in this industry are dead at 60. And I can see why. Work 18 to 20 hour days, eat some sort of take out maybe twice a day and this goes on for many many months. Working these ice rinks with this company they actually hire enough people to get the major parts together in one day. Then there are two crews supervising the workers so the day can be split. Same thing during the show. Very very easy to work around and I bring my juicer with me when I travel so that helps.

It is the whole retraining the mind and body thing, takes time.

Thanks for the reply

Good to hear that taking better care of yourself has become more of a priority. I have always tried to take care of myself and eat well, until my husband's heart attack back in October. That made all of us rethink about what we eat and how much fat and sodium is in what we eat. The reason why my website is what it is!

I became single back in 07 and by 10, my blood pressure was a problem. Never even thought about diet, or what I eat until then. When I had the kids, and people to care for I almost always cooked. Summer time was 3 Ques a week easy.

On my own I just did raman, taco bell, yadda yada. Now I juice, drink a lot less beer and beef is almost never in my diet. HOweve I have a pressure cooker I love to make mom's stew in and that requires beef chunks. If I could just get flour out of my diet, I did the stew with coconut flower and I enjoyed it yet I can not find it down here in SoCal.

Thank you for the reply,

Cali

It is amazing how different grocery shopping becomes when you have to watch these things. I used to just go to the store and buy what I needed. Not anymore. I look at labels like never before.

sodium is in everything. I do my best to stay away from boxes, and cans.

Good to hear from you sounds like you are really enjoying life good luck with the next job lot I cannot remember what it is like to be in a comfort zone anymore lol hope you have a wonderful Easter

Yes true I am enjoying life, that is a choice! This is the only thing I have lined up at the moment, so not much of a comfort zone. However I know also I am not stuck, I really really like not having to punch in every morning knowing I am stuck at a Job all day. Job is nothing more than being " Just obove Broke."

Anyhow, Happy Easter. My best to you and all of yours this weekend.

I always enjoy reading your blog's and how it is going for you!
That is pretty awesome that you are able to enjoy your work...
Like you said we need to get out of our comfort zone and take that leap...never know!
Happy Easter to you and blessings,
Linda

Nice post! Have a great Easter!
:)

Thank you!

Thanks, even though I could not get the top pic to rotate correctly. I was giving Zam driving lessons there so I thought it would be a fun photo!
