Hi WA!
I just created my first website and chose the theme titled "Pin Minimal". Once I log in as an admin, I see a banner at the top of my dashboard that says,
"
they maybe necessary to style your site...
a lot of theme are starting to cut back on what they do and rely on other plugins for functions...
it depends on whether you are looknig at hte style of the site and if it is capable of giving you what you want...
personally i tend to stay away from themes that require addons to fully function...
so my go to themes are astra, oceanwp and generatepress....and if you have more experience neve...
good luck
phil
these plugins may slow down your site depending on what elements you add to your site...
Hi
Totally safe to add Elementor, it is a web page builder. You do not have to do the demo importer as you would be adding your own content.
Reccommended plugins - enable or don't?

As Abie says!!
Before you go too far I personally recommend GeneratePress due to how lightweight it is (makes your site faster) but if you like the theme you’ve chosen then stick with it. You can always change it
Elementor is very handy to make a good looking homepage/ sales pages… but don’ let that design stuff distract you from the main part of the website (the content)
