This may be a bit of a silly question but I'm really not sure what this means. Can someone clarify/
When your website is first built Google and other search engines don't know that you exist right?
Being indexed just means that Google is now aware that you exist... so yes it is a good thing :)

By having your site indexed on Google, Yahoo and Bing, that means that more people will be able to see it and therefore your site will draw more traffic to it, which is what you want!
