Hey Wealthy Affiliate's,

I'm having a bit of trouble verifying the ownership of one of my websites. I have done the steps that Google Analytics suggest to do but I fear I

Great you figured it out!

I was just going to pour my heart out and answer your question, but I see it is resolved---Phew! I love how you write!--with those little spurts of humor!

Haha! Thanks, Erin. I am hoping that by making it reflect my actual personality, my viewers will get the feeling I am actually talking to them. I'm happy you love it! Thanks again,

Tim

I'm happy that you're happy! :)! Let that personality SHINE!

I had this problem as well. I ended going to you tube they have some great step by step video.
Also if you type it in the search bar above I am sure there is training on it there as well.

Thank you, I had forgotten that was a resource. Btw, I hope you are doing well! Thanks again.

I am doing great and you are welcome I hope one of these 2 helps.

I too had this problem and I would normally use Marion Blacks' training but i cant find that training right now. So i sent you the link below.
If there is one thing I love about Marion Black is her no fluff way. She has this way of explaining things in the most easiest calm manner.
I hated this part and Marion sorted it for me via her training if you are still stuck on the training below then I will Ask Marion to help you out.
This lady just does things in layman's terms. Which is what I love about her. ;-))
Regards Deborah ;-))

I have found the best way to do it is by copying the HTML code into my theme header. There are other ways to do it but I can walk you through that way.

1. Copy the code Google Analytics gives you,
2. go to your site on wordpress,
3. click appearance> editor,
4. on the right hand side, click the link for Theme Header,
5. scroll down to the first time you see <head> (near the top usually, depending on your theme,
6. paste the code just under where it says <head>, you can scroll down a bit more to ensure there is another <head> below that. Basically you want to be between the two to ensure you are putting it in your header.
7. Finally, click "update file" and you're done!

There are some training modules some others have created if you want more details and photos. Like this one: Hope this helps! - Jaime

I wanted it to be that easy so bad but it was not, lol. It didn't work for me.

Oh, bummer. Can you describe where you go wrong or get stuck? It could be your theme mucking it as well.

I was able to verify ownership following the steps in the training you posted but now i cant figure out why i have a red bordered notification in WP dashboard saying to updat my google analytics options. When i go to do that it takes me to monster insights within WP still and has me authenticate something but when I try it says invalid UA code. Any ideas?

So i just deleted the google analytics plugin that was causing half of my frustratin though it wasn't connected to my inability to verify ownership, i thought they were related and maybe they are but the training you posted helped me to figure it all out. Thank you very much!

Tim

So happy you were able to work it out. These things can definitely be frustrating for those of us who don't write code. :)

Try this it might help you ;-)

As others have mentioned, consistently publishing new content is key. I would also recommend the comment tool. I request at least one comment for every new post that publishes to at least get the ball rolling with comments. Keep at it and you'll see that authority continue to rise.

Brok

Great tips, thanks Brok.

I don't believe there is a magic wand approach to SEO. Generally success in Affiliate Marketing involves time, due to Google respecting the age of a website. Also it takes time to write blogs. If you could get a team of your friends to write you 100 blogs in a week, you may speed things up a bit. :-)
Hang in there, it will happen.
Dave

Thanks Dave,

Tim

Great.Keep going

Very good advice everybody, thank you. I reckon i should finish my landing pages too before wondering why I'm not ranking well, haha.

Tim

I would say much like Erin here. Write content regularly (2-3 posts a week). get comments to them and reply to those comments. Fetch your posts as Google inside Google Webmaster Tools.

Belief is real. Possess it!

Get interaction with comments and REALLY begin to relate to your visitors!! Go to SiteComments and start reviewing member's sites and ask for comments to yours, as well.

Google will see your activity and great direction to others and will love that! It's all about interaction!

Not only has my new site ranked up to over 600 visitors with even more page views in 12 days, but so have my blogs here--which I didn't even know was a thing! So, very caringly relate to your guests! What you put out there, will come back to you!

I just got denied being an affiliate with AvantLink because my site is too new and I don't have a million worth of traffic. (sad face) Struggle is real.

That's a great attitude Bullat. I have 31 articles. I've been writing one article daily, and have 13 articles indexed. It's a slow starting process if you rely on organic traffic generation. This article is consistent with our training, but maybe it can give you more insight: https://neilpatel.com/blog/google-index/
I've done everything in the article and still it's taking 4 days to 2 weeks for indexing with my 1 month old site. Then, even the articles that have great low competition keywords still have an authority factor that's taking away from the traffic. Great question. My solution has been following the training (including the PPC postions) and patience.

Hey thanks!

Gonna go read it now. I really appreciate you putting your own experience in your comment. I can be known as a "Doubting Thomas" as they say, but I think that is true for just about anyone, haha. Your experience really helps me see it ata different angle while in a different light!

Tim

Youre welcome. I try to speak from my experience as much as possible.

This is great info TDomena. I've noticed Neil Patel blog posts coming up in my searches too.

With a little investigation, Neil Patel definitely capitalizes on content marketing. He mentions the importance of consistent blogging for SEO benefits.

Did you know that the Neil Patel website?
Is approx. 1 year and 3 months old
Has 3500+ Blog Posts
Has about 100 pages

Be consistent with everything but that is all I know

True, that would be a start :) thank you for replying to my question!

You are welcome another helpful hint is to get comments on your posts it shows google that people are actually looking at it and it is worth while.

Ya I finally have 32, whooo! Lol. Trying to comment on websites to get more. Speaking of, if I comment on one of yours will you comment back? :)

I see someone mentioned YouTube! It's a great way to learn visually. It offers other perspectives that might be left out with some of the WA training. Don't get me wrong, always see if WA offers the class or if someone has an first, and if you want more information go to YouTube! It's amazing what you can learn, but don't get sucked into the YouTube trap!! Learn what needs to be learned and then apply said knowledge. Don't get stuck watching videos. I wish you the best!! And I know that you will go far!!
Your Friend, AaronGriffin

Great to see other WA members helping you out. As others have mentioned if you cant find help here inside the community a Google search should bring up tutorials on most of your questions regarding technical issues with themes, plugins, etc.

Hi bullat, here are some links to Youtube tutorials:

https://youtu.be/VKcQUUn58Qs

https://youtu.be/OVoXDk8ps10

Brian

Thank you! This is exactly what I needed. I'd be lost if it wasn't for the community here at WA, lol

No problem. Just shout if you have any other questions.

There is not one here in WA unfortunately but I would recommend that you check out Youtube for some training videos for the theme. Just do a search for "Sydney theme tutorial" on Youtube and you will get results.

Carl

ok thanks i dont know why i didnt think of that!

Yes, of course!! Didn't come up with that one! Great idea, Carl.

I haven't ever come across one, however, if you go to your theme and read the details. This may show you more information. I will have to research it more.

ya i went to the tutorial and it didnt explain how to utilize the tools the way they did in the design of the tutorial, lol

UGHHH!

It is very possible that it is your theme. Regardless this is as an easy great first step to try. Try another one and see if that it fixes the problem

Thanks, ill give it a whirl

Try a different theme and see if that helps.

Kicking myself for not thinking of that earlier, lol. Thank you!

Oh nice. I had completely forgotten about that and further more have never used it. Enjoy your Monday as well!

I'm not sure what that is and that could potentially be a good thing or a bad thing
