Example, I created an email address bsue@pawsitivelytasty.com, where do I get those email?

The light blue SiteRubix button to the left of your screen. Then "Manager". On top of that page, you'll see links. One of which is labeled "email." There you have it :)

Has anyone else had an issue with this? They provide no help but a lot of attitude... and now they won't answer at all. Fine/ I think the members know more than they do anyway.

WA tech support is for hosting issues not for anything else. If you actually quote what was said by both parties then I might know whether or not to agree with you about it being rude.

I 'm not asking you to agree with me or not, I was asking what your experience has been. I wanted to know if anyone else has had a negative interaction. Your response doesn't answer my question, but certainly puts you on the radar as someone who likes to gossip and stir up the "stuff".

The details are irrelative. Just 'he said she said' bs that I don't care to go into. Fact is this - I asked for help- first time, I was told they already answered that on another ticket - I had only submitted one. They didn't even give me a clue as to where to find the answer. Again, on first contact - that is rude and lacks customer service- just to tell a client we already answered that - too bad.
This is all new to me, so when my site doesn't look the way it is suppose to - to me that is a "host" problem. It's the host's problem to make sure my site looks the way they promise it will. Especially when I paid for an upgrade that I didn't get.
So now you know a little more, did it make any difference to what your experience has been? NO.
Does your agreement, either way, make my experience better? NO.
Do I still feel slighted - YES, I am a paying customer and first impressions are lasting and hard to get past.

From the lack of response to your question I doubt if anyone else has had a problem with hosting support's "attitude".

I just see this question now and to be honest (and I can compare since I work very close with service and support desks for 15 years now), I cannot say 1 word wrong about the Support of the Rubix team... They answer very quickly on tickets, the are very flexible and they really do everything to keep your site online all the time.....

But I did read your complete message to Marion (to be honest, why so angry?) and I have to say that I think you do not completely understand the task of the Rubix support team...

Their task is to keep the sites online and to backup them.
To see that the visitors can connect without any problems to all sites...
Checking Hard drive capacity, checking errors from the logs of the servers and handle upon those errors.

Their task has nothing and really nothing to do with how your site looks like, I am very sorry, but they cannot help you with this, they are not trained in this matter and they are not allowed to help you with this...
And from my experience, they will help to reset your site to a default theme if they can help you with that, but that means every the adaptation of your theme is also erased...

The most important message is: Even if they could, they are NOT allowed to help you in this matter...
Really not...

I understand this is all new for you and so I can understand that you are expecting other hings, but it is what it is...
I hope my answer helps you to better understand the situation.

Cause to be honest, when I read your answer to Marion, who always try to help everybody, then I hope you will really read this feedback in a constructive way...
Otherwise, I fear that it will be very difficult for everyone to help you, when you don't accept things from people as Marion, who has 30 years experience with this kind of things...

Some friendly and constructive Regards....

I guess I don't understand the requirement of purchasing a domain. It seems almost counter productive - I know they aren't expensive I'm just not sure what is happening?

Hello,

Everybody needs his/her own domain to have an online business of themselves. We cannot all use the wealthyaffliate.com domain to promote our niche/our product or service...

So that's why everybody needs a separate domain, but of course everything is still managed from the WA site.
So actually you are right: We all use the WA site for our business...

Some more info about purchasing a domain: I hope this info helps!

Grtz,
Bert

Thank you everyone - - I read everyone's answers and got a much better understanding.

I want to be as successful as possible, so I'm going to do this. I was a little confused on if the support and protection will continue. So I guess I really just needed to know what a ''host" does. see . . .I'm a grandma and not 'hip' with the lingo man......

Purchasing a domain will get your better rankings, and thus more traffic, on the major search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo! Instead of having a site like mysite.siterubix.com it would be mysite.com to everyone that visits your site. But the hosting is all done through WA. All of your content is on WA's servers and when someone types in your website URL or clicks on the link in Google, it is directed to WA's servers in the background that no one sees. Hope that helps!

okay, sounds like I will own the domain and still actually be using WA for the administrative end. Whew - I thought I was going to have to learn how to handle all that on my own..... scary

hi Bsue,

you dont have to purchase a domain as you can create websites on the siterubix domain although longterm if you want to create your own brand and be an authority in your niche i would recommend getting your own domain. they arent really that expensive and it is defined as part of your brand identity. trust this helps?

yes thanks, :)

When you start at WA as a free member you get 2 free sub-domains.

Domain names aren't a "requirement" -- You can use the 2 sub-domains just as fine.. However, people buy domain names to look more professional and you can also set up an email at WA with your domain name. There are also a lot of other features that unlock when going Premium and having your own domain name.

When you buy a domain name, you own it. No one can take it from you. If you are using the sub-domains.. WA owns them.

It's up to you in the end.

the lesson I was in said it was required - didn't mean to step on your toes

Link the lesson? It was most likely just worded wrong. It's definitely not required.

Not sure how to Link a lesson, but I was referencing Course 2, Lesson 1, could be a miswording - wonder who prof-reads these. :)
