This headline stops you making the same mistakes over and again
They say the headline is the most important thing in sales copy. I'm starting to agree with them.
I've read lots of great tips here on headlines before, but have just read some others which are just as good, so wanted to share.
These are the ABCS of writing headlines.
A - Automation
People are lazy and want stuff done for them. Give them an automated headline.
No..I'm not talking about "Make money overnight on autopilot!!!!!!111!!" headlines.
I'm talking about something happening for the customer, rather than them doing it.
Let's compare a razor headline: "Use this to make your shave smoother than ever"
vs "Makes your shave smoother than ever"
Play to their lazy side.
B - Benefits
"What's in it for me dude?"
You want the headline to talk about solving a problem. Need a smoother shave? That's in the headline.
How about "Three steps to stop your money issues for good" for a headline?
C - Curiosity
Headlines should naturally be engaging. You want people to click on them (No point being on page 1 position 1 of Google if your headline sucks).
"Are you making these same five mistakes that everyone else makes?"
or a combination of the above.
"This product stops you making these same five mistakes"
S - Specificity
The more specific you are, the more likely people are to trust you. Liars don't go into details (Seen any shiny objects explain what they do lately?)
The "Five" in the headline example above was specific.
"All beginners make the same five headline mistakes" - newcomers are specific too.
Using Your ABCS.
Try incorporating some (or all) of the above into your headlines and see if you get more clicks.
Yes, to some extent you might be limited because you are trying to fit keywords into your page titles, but what about when you share your posts socially? what about adding a headline onto the end of your keyword title
"The best razor for men - this makes your shave smoother than a baby's ..bottle"

Good training here Dom. I'm not sure if I need to change a couple of my headlines or not. I'll keep this blog in mind to review.
Shave smoother than a baby's bottle! That made me laugh, Thanks for sharing this Dom. Sound advice indeed.
A good catch...I might as well play with those letters for my abcdary hangout sometime. Probably, we could coin a new WA alphabet, heh! Thanks for sharing, Dom!
Interesting! I really like this. And here I thought I knew the ABCS these last 18 years....
