Understanding Google Ranking Factors

Google uses more than two hundred ranking factors to rank sites and pages. With so many factors involved in the process, it makes it very difficult for the average blogger to know which of the 200 will have the biggest impact. In other words, which factors should you focus on to get higher rankings for your site?

I came across a checklist from Backlinko that highlights the ten most important Google ranking factors starting off with Keyword as number one, followed by content length, etc.

If you are trying to understand how Google ranks sites, this checklist may not be a bad place to start.
