An early 30-something kid who just got married, bought a house, and adopted 2 dogs. Living the "dream" sitting in a cubicle in downtown Chicago learning how to be an adult and dreaming of finding success that allows me the freedom to travel the world, play golf, join the world series of poker and escape the 9-5. Hoping to share my journey, plus assist others in the life (and business) lessons I have learned throughout my journey.
BryanClark's Goals 3
Money Goals
1) I would love to supplement my monthly income with a few hundred a month.
2) I would be ecstatic replacing my income with a business I ran myself from my own home, getting away from the office politics.
3) I'm willing to invest the time of a full time job if it means achieving my dreams. I've never had a problem with working hard, I've just always hated working hard for companies who don't seem to care, and always make you play the office politic game.

Hey Bryan,

You can definitely achieve these goals and I know that you will make it happen. The key is to dedicate yourself to your training here at WA. Follow the training, take action on what you learn, and ask questions when you have them.

It all starts with a goal - you can now start working toward it!

Talk to you soon,

Carson

Hey Bryan! Travel is one of my big passions in life as well. My wife and I have been all over the world, Australia, Asia, Europe, and all over the US including both Alaska and Hawaii. Wealthy Affiliate has been such an important part of my life as none of that would have been possible without the training and support that I've received while here.

You can see the same success too! It's a matter of taking action and asking questions when you get stuck. Hope to see you around the site more!

Hey Steve, motivated by your story. Skeptical at first, because you see so many of these make money from home ideas. As we get settled into our home,I've been looking for a way to make some supplemental income and start to run my own business. While I understand its unlikely I can quit my day job for something like this, it would be nice to make a little money here and there while trying.

I've had a general idea of a website that could discuss things I'm dealing with as a new adult in the "real world" such as reviews on suburb living, leaving the city, reviewing new home products like a lawn mower I got on amazon, security lighting, pool, etc. I also work in finance and had the idea of telling the story how I fixed my credit score via actually using more credit cards. I could tie this to credit card affiliate links etc.

My main worry is, don't all of these sites already exist in high numbers? I mean nerdwallet for one already reviews credit cards etc. And there are plenty of home item review sites.

I noticed this similiar topic as one of your 5 example niches, but isn't this too unfocused? How would you suggest trying to cater a website like this and is there any chance it could be profitable? Or is the real profit I'm starting to notice, just referring more members to pay for the premium monthly subscription of WA?

Thanks for the help.

"I've had a general idea of a website that could discuss things I'm dealing with as a new adult in the "real world" "

This is your main selling point. The key here is to not turn it into a personal blog. "Today the line at Starbucks was sooooo long" "Just got my haircut and it was expensive" etc. That's not going to make you stand out. But rather, come up with a central theme for your site that people can easily relate to.

An example blogger who is doing something similar to what I outlined in my niche picking post would be Juli at paleomg.com -- She does a fantastic job of incorporating relatable lifestyle posts around the central theme of eating healthy. She has a huge following, books, book tours, big name advertisers, etc.

"Don't all of these sites already exist in high numbers? "

Well, yes, you're never going to find a popular niche with no competition. One thing is to study the big names in your niche and learn their website. Figure out what they're doing right, but more importantly, what they're doing wrong. The easiest way to stand out is to improve upon what they are lacking in.

Hey Bryan and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate!

My name is Steve and I'm the owner of IveTriedThat. You signed up through me and I thought I'd tell you a little about myself. I joined Wealthy Affiliate back in 2009, over 5 years ago. I was looking to learn how to supplement my income through Internet Marketing and what I've found was so much more.

By 2010, I was working full-time from home. These days, ALL of my income comes from my ventures online. In fact, my wife just recently quit her job to start her own business as well. Internet Marketing and Wealthy Affiliate have provided us with amazing opportunities (we've bought a house, get to travel the world, and best of all, no longer spend time "going to work") and I'm incredibly thankful to the training, tools, and support here that made it all possible. :)

I'd love for you to see the same level of success. So, if you ever have any questions or need a hand with anything, do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I am here to help!

To get started, you should add a short description and upload a picture. Wealthy Affiliate is a community and having a profile and a picture will really help get you acquainted here.

Anyways, thought I would just introduce myself. If there's anything I can do for you Bryan, just let me know!

Cheers!

Steve
