Sleepless

My Routine has rather evolved more than been planned. I have always woken between 2 & 3 and tossed and turned until 4 then fallen asleep again at 4ish. My alarm would go off at 5 and I would feel as though I have not slept.

2 Hours Productive Time Found

So to stop wasting 1-3 hours tossing and turning, I have, since starting WA {and Jay's 3 am Saturday morning training's}, set my alarm for 3 am daily.

Being pre-computer age, my To-Do list is still a hard copy. Double A4 page per day in a counter book. "To Do" on right. Comments, new issues, Ideas for articles, Niches etc on left (with odd phone numbers, scribblings and messages etc.) :-)

My Strict Routine

3-6am Emails, comments, help 5 people (if I have solutions to their
problems. I often just "lurk" and read other people's
answers if I have no solutions). I learn a ton with
"Lurking". I will start an article if there is time.
6-7:30 Make My wife's coffee and pack her shakes (well someone
has to work!)
7:30-12ish Start Article. I try and finish it but these days my posts
are just getting to be longer and longer. Using Kyle's
method of researching 30 Keywords at the start of the
month and filling in great headlines. It makes article writing
even more fun and effective. There is usually 1 coffee
break somewhere in there.
12 - 12:30 Lunch
12:30 - 16:00 Complete article and then work on second site.
Again, coffee somewhere in there, Lots of coffee by now.
16:00 Domestic chores, feed dogs, feed fish, washing... oops
you didn't see that.

This routine works for me... I'm retired :-)

Being organised with a routine is the only way I get things done. Thanks for sharing yours with us. -Mark

Retired! You are working more efficiently than most people who 'go to work'. Excellent role-modelling... thanks for the motivation! I'm off to do a bit of lurking to start the day, Sue :)

Lurking has benefits. :-)

good schedule. i write better in the morning so i start around 6 myself

I get most of my work done in the morning. At about 14:00 my clutch tends to start slipping and I get less and less done. :-)

Your lurking around gave me a good giggle! If I wake early I do go through emails, it is easy to do and it does seem to take time so it is great to get that done first thing!

I try and remember to greet when I go into live chat. Forget often! want to at least warn you all that I am "Lurking"!

Hi, thanks for sharing this, very interesting. I too am sort of retired as I do some freelance work on the web, and charity work locally. I have a very loose routine which aims to have a short start in the morning (30 minutes), some 1 to 2 hours in the afternoon and 2 hours in the evening, 7 days a week. Strange maybe but I also have one hours thinking time walking the dogs in the morning where I make a note of “good” ideas on my phone and send them to myself so they pop up in my email inbox. I guess what is more important for me (and this is no criticism, we all have our own ways) is to set and achieve certain things/tasks for the day in WA. Sometimes these are very small, and some take two chunks in two days, but it is the achieving which is so important for me. It makes me feel good and if I don’t then resolve to catch up tomorrow and make sure I do. It has also evolved for me. I used to have effectively an office with lots of paper which was very inefficient for me, but now it is an iPad Pro (thanks to my lovely wife and Christmas) and one notebook used very sparingly, being slowly overtaken by the iPad, no more. So my office is completely transportable if i need to. Have. A great day, Hudson

Thanks Hudson. I don't travel much so my paper trail still works for me. I just tend to forget to look at my phone and ipad so I never keep them up to date. I will just blame old age. :-)

Very good!

Wayne!

As one gets older you need less sleep. Being retired gives me lots of time to concentrate on my online business and enjoy a full day of other activities. I’m awake at 5am and my day is broken up into different activities. At the end of of the day I have packed in a solid day

Way to go. I better start planning my day too

I find that it is the only way to keep on track and avoiding those senior moments which I have fairly often.

Not the washing nooooo that makes to of us in the whole male population

I think there are a few more that prefer to not mention it. My wife says that I can be Boss as long as my chores are done! :-)

You have to do what works, good for you!
Blessings,
Marcus

Helps the day go by and occasionally brings in some money.
