700 Followers! Why?
I woke at 03:00 this morning to follow Jay's webinar, only to find that as I was signing in.....they were signing off thanks to the time change. So now I need to get up at 01:5o to make coffee before I watch Jay's show....oops, training. Well, it is entertaining as it has its lighter side and some of the comments give one a giggle.
So while I was drinking my coffee (which was now cold), I was going through mail and answering messages when I noticed that I have 700 followers on the dot! Why? I seldom Blog, I ask more questions than I answer and I have not started in any new direction...
While making another cup of coffee
NO No...COFFEE
I was pondering this strange phenomenon and came to the conclusion that, maybe, they follow me for the same reason I follow others. So why do I follow others. It took me a serious cup of coffee to come up with that answer. Why do I follow others?
I found that, in the beginning ( this sound like a long story), I had started following others because:
- I was told to.
- Then because I enjoyed the follow backs
- The posts of all the people I was following became my focal point as I found that they were entertaining and very often, in fact most of them, had information that I did not know and need to use.
Now I do it because I get to learn from most of you, I remember how I felt in the beginning when I received a welcome follow and the offers of help and the advice, so now I make a point of trying to welcome the new member and encourage them to persevere .
It meant a lot to me and I still welcome it now, 7 months down the line. I often think that I take this platform, Kyle and Carson, the support team and all of you for granted and forget the value of you all. You are all what makes this such an awesome platform and community to be a member of.
I am afraid that this following thing is rather one sided as I benefit more from your follow and you article than you benefit from me. My articles are scarce. I "like" most and I try to only comment when I have something of value to add, albeit only to make you smile when I can.Thank you one and all for making this such a Great community!

You may not think you add any value to the community, but I'm still learning from you, so take heart in that.
Good luck out there and take care.
Great point. I do that also because I remember what it meant to me also.
Tried and true

WA is a great community filled with knowledge that makes learning new things fun and enjoyable!
Thanks,

Thanks for a nice post, Bryan. I agree with you. I think my pattern is very similar: initially following instructions, then enjoying the contact, then getting all the help I needed when I got stuck, now welcoming new members to pay it forward. Carol
