Use your web browser as a notepad

On several occasions I was pressed to scribble a note in a hurry. Of course you have apps or Chrome extensions such as sticky notes from Evernote etc. A simpler way is have your browser function as a notepad by using a blank browser page as an off line text editor. Copy the everything, from the b in bar to the > bracket and paste it in your browser URL address one space after body and 0: bar: data:text/html, <body contenteditable style="font:rem/1.5 monospace;max-width:60rem;margin:0 auto;padding:4rem;">

Also you can do this if you have a Wampserver, Xampp or any local web server installed on your computer. Please note that information you insert on the blank browser page may not be secure so avoid placing sensitive data on this blank age.

Use it on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Opera. For faster loading setup a bookmark on your browser menu:

For Google Chrome 1. Click on an existing icon you do not need or click to add a new one. 2. Paste snippet. 3. Give it a short name and press save

Mozilla Fox 1. Click the menu button and choose Customize. 2. Click the Show / Hide Toolbars and dropdown menu at the bottom of the screen and select Bookmarks Toolbar 3. Click the green Exit Customize button

Sounds like a quick shorthand for some things. I usually just open a notepad file and use that.

Yes, Notepad is an alternative but if you need to type a note in a jiffy, the browser page loads almost instantly.
