The Energy of Being - an Affiliate
Recently, I attended a virtual session on energy medicine and how empowering oneself with the essential tools that come with this approach to health and healing, can lead to an improved, healthy and happier life. One of the things that I learned from the session is that as 'spiritual' beings made up of energy, it is believed that channeling healing energy to an ailing or 'broken' part of the body can effect positive results. Energy medicine often proposes that imbalances in the body's "energy field" result in illness, and that by re-balancing the body's energy-field health can be restored.
Altternative medicine is by no means a new concept. In fact, it was around way before the advent of traditional medicine and quick fixes that come from the modern day drugstore or chemist and of course way before 'big pharma'! For the newbies to energy medicine, skepticism and curiosity may have first played a role in our desire to explore what this concept was all about. As with everything else, the worldwide web is flooded with information about it with a plethora of online training programmes that can either be free or put a dent in your pocket.
Where am I going with all this?
Growing up in the Caribbean, especially where the origins of the population come from indigenous people, immigrants from as far off as Africa and India, most are familiar with the alternative medicinal practices of our ancestors, passed down from generation to generation. As the world changed, so too did these practices which slowly became replaced by pharmaceuticals.
The world of Affiliate Marketing was as foreign to me as energy medicine was up to a few months ago. Unknown to me, this form of marketing where I could be rewarded for promoting the products of other people was never on my radar.
Additionally, I was a student of traditional marketing back in the 90s (when there was no internet! if you can believe that) in a world where the components of marketing were channelled by Philip Kotler, the father of marketing who created and espoused the famous 4 P's of 'price, product, place and promotion'. The 'Energy' of affiliate programmes has changed the way we view commerce and how we do business. It has provided an 'alternative' to businesses in order to ensure sustainability. Like the practices of traditional medicine, the foundation of affiliate marketing still lies within four key components:
1. The brand or merchant (providing the product or service)
2. The network like Wealthy Affiliate that provides the means by which these businesses can be formed (the platform or place that brings the elements together)
3. The affiliate (the means by which the promotion is carried out)
4. The customer (who indirectly drives the price based on supply and demand)
Here we are 30 years later with the dynamics of marketing, though steeped in tradition, has evolved into a new energy - an energy that will likely keep on changing as the world turns and consumer needs and demands change with it. The 'Energy of Being' will see to it that whatever form business takes 5, 15 or 20 years from now, the one underlying component that will always remain will be...the energy! Are you a believer?

Lovely post there Brongsugah. Really like the interplay of energy being used as a channeling force to effect positive change. Also I too remember Kotler, what a guru at the time. His foundational teachings are certainly, as you allude, present in the WA approaches today.

Thanks Hugh. Much appreciated. Some foundations remain the same no matter how things change.

Things sure do change- I remember the days of computers as large as houses, walk mans, CDs, CD Roms, etc etc - yeah things change. And for sure all changes have an underlying energy- my only hope is that we are not on the end of the wrong kind of energy, which there always will be.
To Success, with the right energy!!!
I've been a big believer in energy healing and alternative health for many years. People look at you like you're crazy at times but Big Pharma (to me) is mostly (albeit not always) about the money. I know too many people that take massive amounts of pills everyday. I have enough problems remembering to take my vitamin!!!!

Hi Debbi. I hear you on that. Not everyone is into the intangible. I just like to broaden my perspective.
