One of the first things that new affiliates learn when they sign up at Wealthy Affiliates is that they will be required to write - and to do lots of it! For persons who are not accustomed to writing anything more than a grocery list or signing their kid's report card, content creation for blogs and for their websites can be a gargantuan task. Afraid to WriteWords tend to scare some people when it has to be structured and make sense to anyone other than themselves. For others, putting their idea

EMAIL OVERLOAD!Are you a WA newbie affiliate who has suddenly realised that your email inboxes have been literally overflowing with emails from WA wellwishers, notices about blogs, questions, site matches, your comment has been liked notices and someone's been added to your network...... DO NOT LET IT FREAK YOU OUT!Trust me, it's pretty easy to be overwhelmed when you're new to WA and every day, there's no less than 30 WA emails in your inbox. You don't even get that much from websites to which

Today, I'm taking a break from writing a 'technical' type post as I'm not in the mood to think too much! So please excuse me for my Friday evening mood....It seems like not long ago when I was in my 20s, 30s and 40s (yes, I've passed them all!) and living in Trinidad, Friday after work couldn't come fast enough so we could hit the nearest or most popular watering hole. In these parts, we call it 'liming' i.e. hanging out. We literally counted down to 4 o'clock (desks packed up and put away by 3

If you’ve never shopped online at Amazon.com, you must be living under a rock! I’ve got some friends who Amazon.com knows on a first-name basis! Just in case you have indeed been living under a rock, here’s a little history on Amazon.com. In 1994 Jeff Bezos, a former Wall Street hedge fund executive, incorporated Amazon.com, choosing the name basically because it began with the first letter of the alphabet and because of its association with the vast South American river. My last two blogs have centred around influencer marketing and the possibilities that exist for affiliates in the world of social influencers. For many of us new to affiliate marketing, utilising the benefits of influencer marketing will not likely be a resource that we can take advantage of in the short or even medium term. Depending on our niche, how much we plan to invest in promoting the brand and of course the ROI are all variables to be considered. MACRO-INFLUENCERS:In my last two blogs I

In my last blog post on Influencer Marketing, I was challenged to think about how an affiliate or new business owner might go about finding an Influencer to boost their product or service and what arrangement one might consider in negotiating with them. First things first, how many followers do you need to be considered an influencer? Hundreds? Thousands? Tens of thousands? Many up and coming online personalities are looking for some metric or formula to work towards in order to determine when

So being in the affiliate marketing world really allows you to be exposed to new and interesting information that you would have never even come across had it not been for this new found WA pathway. This week, my discovery was 'Influencer Marketing' - yeah it's a thing! On social media, Instagram in particular, influencers - who are described in the marketing arena as 'a person with the ability to influence potential buyers of a product or service by promoting or recommending the items on social

There is an old adage that says "show me your friends and I'll you tell who you are". In essence, this proverb is saying that like-minded people stick together - you know...birds of a feather flock together? However, it can also have a negative connotation in that if your circle is full of bad apples, chances are you're also one of them. What exactly does a proverb like that mean within the WA context? Hmmm.....some may say that we all live in the same WA bubble, with access to the same resour

An interesting article I read recently headlined 'Will coupons dethrone content' by FMTC, which stands for 'For Me To Compete' - they provide publisher/ affiliate tools so that affiliates of all sizes can compete on the big stage - at least that's what it says in their 'About Us' profile, suggested that for some in the affiliate space, there seems to be a shift of attitudes regarding what makes for a healthy/balanced affiliate programme. Apparently for many years, merchants and coupon affiliate
