Show me your friends.

There is an old adage that says "show me your friends and I'll you tell who you are". In essence, this proverb is saying that like-minded people stick together - you know...birds of a feather flock together? However, it can also have a negative connotation in that if your circle is full of bad apples, chances are you're also one of them.

What exactly does a proverb like that mean within the WA context? Hmmm.....some may say that we all live in the same WA bubble, with access to the same resources (mind food aka knowledge), the same online support that we have the choice to use at the click of a mouse...and more importantly, access to the people who have walked the road before us and who can provide us with the guidance that we need to get us to where we wish to be.

A high ranking WA Ambassador in my 'inner' circle - yes I ride with the big guns (Lol)....recently brought up this very same topic of staying close to those who know and forging meaninful connections with WA gurus if we are to be successful on this pathway. It's a no brainer when you think about it. Why?

So in the grand scheme of things, the fact that we're all on this WA journey together, largely with the same goal of financial independence in mind regardless of our niche, what does that say about us and the friends that we keep?

Would love to hear your thoughts...

Cheers!

Maria

For me it tells me, working 12-16 hour shifts on the weekends, so my check would be was close to a 40 hour work. I did this to be able to take my daughter to school, and pick her up. I also was also full time student at UOP a very condensed program, I did receive my MBA. I feel as though I have not lived up to my true potential, something is missing. I have wanted to try Affiliate Marketing for sometime, so here I am my wonderful WA family. Let's ride the next wave of our lives together.

Incredible schedule and admirable that you've decided to invest in yourself for your future!

Hi Maria, I believe it's very important to surround ourselves with supportive and positive friends.

We all have many friends during our lives, but how many do we really stay friends, and in touch with for a prolonged period of time?

In my experience only the best ones that we can always count on and they can always count on us.

Couldn't agree more. Long standing friends are few and far between, so when you've got a small supportive circle... Those are the ones to hold on to.

Absolutely Maria.

Surrounding yourself with good friends is a blessing. They help you through good times and bad times. I have 5 very special friends from school. One even dates back to kindergarten! Although we don't live close together anymore, we still keep in touch and support one another through trying times and happy times.

I know they will always be there for me. I feel truly blessed to have them in my life. I also feel blessed to have stumbled upon WA and it's community. Thanks for the article, Maria.

Hello Nina. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. Like you, I agree that surrounding oneself with good friends is a blessing - especially when they bring positivity to your life and together there is a circle of support that in spite of distance or time zones, it remains. Hope to catch up with you on WA. Best wishes.

I think it is very important for the reenergizing of our Spirit to try to be in touch with people that give you inspiration. Make you want to get up out of the bed in the morning. Surrounding yourself with this positive energy can make the world of difference not just with the sharing of ideas but also through support. These are the types of circles I want to build and be a part of. Nice post Maria.

Hello Hugh! Nailed it as usual. It makes better sense to surround oneself with positive energy and people and the support that you need and to provide support as well. So many of us in this WA world require the energy that this platform provides in more ways than one.

As they say birds of the same feathers flock together - and I assure you that saying is so true in many ways. The influence of a peer can be quite effective in both good and bad ways - the key is knowing and dissociating when it is negative or embracing and maximizing when it is good. Good thing for us here on WA, is that we are for helping people as we help ourselves too 👍 towards financial freedom and entrepreneurship 👌and there is nothing wrong with that

Couldn't agree more Chris. It really is about getting support as well as giving assistance when it is sought. That's one of the cool things about WA. It's not only about gaining knowledge through the lessons only but also about helping others through the process if/when you can even though we're all working towards goals - it's never about competition....at least in my opinion.
