Let's be honest here

Hello. My name is Maria and I'm jealous of affiliates who can blog every day, twice a day AND manage their website/s! There, I've said it!

Ooops! This isn't Affiliates Anonymous?! 😵

  • How do those with a full-time job manage it?
  • How do those with families AND a full-time job do it?

I will be honest, I spend my entire work day behind my laptop writing because my job involves managing communications for my team and my organisation, presenting to stakeholders across the region and attending meetings with colleagues from the UK.

No matter what you've heard, remote working is NOT easier than being in an office environment. In fact, you actually do a whole lot more.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining about working from home. I love working in my PJs till 10am and I'm ever so grateful for my job because since this pandemic began, many of my peers have lost their jobs.

I've read the blogs about procrastinating (thanks Simone), seen affiliates shoot up the ranks in three months with just under 100 blog posts under their belt.

Tried using Otter to help with voicing my blog before putting it into writing. But, can't say that I enjoyed the experience. Editing took as much time as writing it from scratch.

The community has awesome tips on generating ideas (thanks Yvonne). However, admittedly,

at the end of the work day, the last thing I want to see is my laptop again or to use my brain again. After making dinner, Netflix and Amazon Prime call my name so loudly, I swear the neighbours can hear it!

However, my motivation is keeping the dream alive! I accepted this WA journey because there are dreams that require fulfillment. So, I carry on...

Thank you for reading my little vent and for the amazing support that you continue to provide.

Cheers!

Maria

Maria my friend, its alright to vent that's what family for, LOL

I agree what you were saying and going through but i do the best i can, I don't need to follow the to do blog 2x a week or more.

In the end of the day its all up to you what you want to accomplish, for only you and you alone to be able to complete or reach our own goal/dream!

If they are not honest then its their choice:) I hope you can see what i meant, we can stay still and we work our own pace:) then be happy for honesty is the best policy in everything we do in life!

Cheers
joce

Hello Joce, thanks so much for your advice. You're right. I just go at my own pace and keep focused on my goals. I do appreciate you reading the blog and taking the time to respond. Much appreciated.

Maria

You are welcome Maria:)

I hear you, Maria. Even though our circumstances are different, I feel like I relate to what you are saying.

I don't know how anyone with a full-time job does WA unless they have some knowledge of affiliate marketing. Or at least have a good working knowledge of computers.

The learning curve, as Rupert puts it, takes me out all the time and I have to walk away and do something else. Sometimes I feel so guilty that I can't power through like others seem to do. I understand why people quit. For now, I will move forward slowly.

Thanks for your "vent" Maria; your honesty is real and refreshing.

Lynn

Hi Lynn, My encouragement for you is that you're not alone. There are lots of us that are pushing through and struggling to get through the lessons, building our websites, reading blogs, commenting and supporting. One thing I've learned is that you do it at your own pace. This programme allows for flexibility and I understand that we want to get our goals achieved. For some of us, it will just take longer than others. We'll get there. You've got this!

Maria

We will both get there 😊

Lol Maria
Thank you for the mention
Believe me, it only takes about 5 mins tops to put a WA blog post together for me.

I used to do it as a motivation prior to posting but now I do it as a reward for posting.

It is very hard. It is strange at work as well when your colleagues sees you always on your phone.

If I was working on the hospital ward or in A and E, then I would be saying just what you're saying.

I have my own office in a Minor Injury and Illness area where you see patients.

At several times during the day, you get a little bit of 3 mins here and there, so I am always doing things on WA between patients

When we are super busy, that's a no no because you can't even catch your breath!

It sure beats the monotony of a 12 hours shift.
It is a hard work life balance that you have to try and fit in

Hi Simone, thanks for this. Yeah I do sneak in the occasional few minutes on my phone during the work day - primarily to comment and read a few blogs while I'm at it. I'll get a working schedule down soon enough and understand that I'm racing against myself and no one else. Appreciate the response. Best wishes.

Maria

You are welcome

As many have already said I know exactly what you are saying. I have exactly the same problems and the siren call of entertainment - (books are bad for me, but Netflix is not far behind) is hard to resist.

Therein lies the problem, and no I do not have a solution. Any time spent on entertainment is time that could be spent on my business. I am responsible for that time.

I just wish I was more responsible.....

I am glad you made this post because I will try what has been suggested in the comments. I will try to put in 15 minutes a day and try to build on that.

Alex

Hi Alex. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone in this. We can all learn a thing or two from the suggestions made here and I will try to implement a few and see how they work for me. Good luck in getting your own schedule going.

Maria

Thank you for the words of encouragement. I will be implementing suggestions made here, so thanks also for posting.

Alex

Any time. We're here to support each other.
