EMAIL OVERLOAD!

Are you a WA newbie affiliate who has suddenly realised that your email inboxes have been literally overflowing with emails from WA wellwishers, notices about blogs, questions, site matches, your comment has been liked notices and someone's been added to your network...... DO NOT LET IT FREAK YOU OUT!

Trust me, it's pretty easy to be overwhelmed when you're new to WA and every day, there's no less than 30 WA emails in your inbox. You don't even get that much from websites to which you actually subscribe or from friends and family!

I joined WA on 1 November 2020. I currently have almost 5,000 emails in my WA inbox. I created a separate folder just for WA because it was necessary to separate my WA emails from everything else!

Here's some simple advice to newbies who might be inundated on a daily basis with WA emails and feeling the pressure of having to/wanting to read them all and realise that you probably can't:

TIPS TO MAKE YOUR WA LIFE EASIER

1. Filter your emails by prioritising e.g. first read the emails relating to blogs or questions that might directly speak to your niche/particular interest. Like and comment as needed.

2. If you've started writing blog content, prioritise the emails that notify you about the comments made by other affiliates on your blogs. You would want to reply to those.

3. Automatically check the box and click 'Mark as Read' for any emails telling you 'Great news - A comment of yours has been liked'. It's wonderful that your comment has been liked, but only if you actually need to see the comment that you already wrote and need validation that it has been liked, just check the box as read and move along.

4. Psycho123 is now following you - if you want to add Psycho123 to your network, then it's necessary to check out who is following you and decide to follow them back or not. Your choice! A brief thank you for adding me to your network comment is a nice touch.

5. New site comment interest match - if you want to earn credit to have comments posted about the pages of your own website, then you also need to offer comments on other affiliate's websites as well. Manage how often you wish to comment.

6. Email announcing new training added - as a newbie to WA , it will probably take you quite a number of weeks/months to go through the 5 courses/ten lessons each of the Online Entrepreneur Certification. Quickly check by the title of the training whether the lesson is applicable to your current affiliate position. If not, leave it unread but bookmark it to come back to it at a later time.

7. This tip should really be #1 - THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION! Read and learn at your own pace. Once you've got a system in place for reading your emails (maybe even create sub folders for each heading), you'll feel a lot less stressed about the volume.

I hope these few tips help. Please feel free to add any others that have helped you in managing your WA email flow.

Cheers!

Thanks Maria, great advice.

I understand the feeling of being overwhelmed with the WA emails appearing in my inbox each day. And I know how easy it is to get sidetracked in reading and responding to them, and then not having enough time to focus on my business building.

So it is definitely important to lay some schedules around our 'working day'.

What I tend to do if I'm stretched for time, is to have a quick look at the emails in my inbox and if I think that the subject matter might be pertinent for wherever I'm at in my journey I will click on link and have a quick read. And if I think I need to spend more time to digest, then I'll bookmark it under the relevant tag category.

Even if I have little time to spare, or even to leave a comment, I will always 'like' the post as a courtesy and gesture of gratitude for the person who has taken the time to write it. That takes no time at all when already on the post page.

Best wishes to you for a happy Easter weekend.

Lesley

Hi Lesley. Thanks for taking the time to read the post and I see that you've got a pretty good schedule for dealing with the influx of emails on a daily basis. Like you, I tend to scan through to see the ones that may require immediate attention because it speaks to some area of my business building for which I might need a quick recommendation. I also try my best to leave a comment as a courtesy, even if it is saying thank you for providing the information.

Wishing you a safe and happy Easter weekend as well.

Cheers!

Good stuff! The content alone is enough to overwhelm many of the newbies, so compounded by a huge number of emails makes them wonder "what have I gotten myself into?"

I just scan my inbox for post titles of interest. When they seem too clever, too mysterious, too short (like 1 word), I usually don't bother reading them. Just not worth it!

Hi Jeannine. Thanks for stopping by and reading my post. Like you, I scan my inbox and the titles and filter accordingly. It can be overwhelming and eventually newbies get the hang of it.

Thanks so much for the advice. Yes, it is quite overwhelming when I see all the e-mails. I've realized that I have to prioritize my website and keep posting material first and then read the other things. Sometimes it is hard because it is very tempting to read all the good blogs. But thanks again for the advice!

Hi Nina, I hear you on that. It really is tempting to want to read all the blogs, but then you'll spend hours on that and not on what you should be doing - focusing on training and building your website. Wishing you all the best! Cheers!

These are great tips. We all have struggled with the email load here. You have given new folks a gift in helping them to get a handle on things right away.

Great newbie tips here. Although I'm still a newbie, I've forgotten how overwhelming the welcome can be.
Very nice mini training course.

Well done Maria.

Melanie

Thanks Melanie. I'm glad you appreciated the tips. Good luck to ya! Cheers!

Maria
