Could anyone please tell me how I add banners and custom affiliate links (like Jaxy) to my webpage? Do I place the link as a widget or do I need a special plug in? If widget,

Make sure you are not getting ahead of the training so you miss something..

You may link this video training.

It should be clearly visible in the primary menu. Disclosure is typically a page.

You also need a shorter disclosure as close as possible to the first affiliate link in a post, either above or below the link.

For Amazon, it has to say "as an Amazon Associate I may earn from qualified purchases" and this has to be directly above your first Amazon link in post.

No. Probably why everyone kept saying to finish the training. I will go back and do that. Thank you!

I noticed you have not started.

It may aid with what you are trying to do.

However congrats on your website and that it is indexed.

Thank you! I finished most of the training but yes I will be going back and finishing it all! Thank you!

No worries, you're very welcome.

Hi Brittany,

Click on the $ sign top right of the home page and that will take you to your affiliate program page.

There'll be a button there with banners on it. Find the banner you want and download it. From there you can upload it to site through your media library.

On that same affiliate program page you should find your personal affiliate link as well.

As you work through the training there should be a lesson on how to do that.

It is in the affiliate bootcamp training: Hope this helps

Have you heard about WooCommerce? It is an eCommerce plugin on WordPress for you to sell/promote products.

Yes I have. I just didn’t want to install any unnecessary plug ins and I was very confused what step to take next honestly. I will definitely look into that and adding it to my plug ins. Thank you so much for your help.

wordpress . com is a platform like wa .. a hosting platform...
wordpress . org creates the program that is loaded onto your website to create your pages and posts ...keeping everything together...
what you can do is to add plugins for payments like stripe or paypal to your website here
or add woocommerce which integrates the payment modules and can become a shop type interface...

Okay perfect. I guess I was a little confused as to the difference in Wordpress.com and org. I knew WA was the hosting but I’m still figuring out all the rest. It’s a lot. However, I am getting more and more knowledge on the subject everyday. Thank you for your help.

no worries Brittany ...
there is a lot to take in at the start, but it does get easier as you move along the training....
i think wordpress org are regretting not stopping the other wordpress taking their name and using the com for the hosting site...
but it's happened...and they can't change it...
have fun

What is your plan? Are you going to use WA for hosting?
WA hosting allows you to sell your own products by installing the Woocommerce plugin to your domain website.

Yes. I plan on using wa for hosting. I am super new at all of this and just trying to figure things out. I will try that. Thank you! 😊

WA installs WordPress for us on our websites so we don't need to. That way we do everything wordpress from our websites.including plugins that will do the features we want on our websites.

So that is how you can install WooCommerce plugin on your website for free from WA Wordpress Backoffice.

Does anyone know why I'm able to add images in site content, but they don't appear on my website? I am able to see them in the back office.

I really like the question. But the answers are great and a benefit.. Thx for the question.

Marv

🥰🥰

After adding the pictures, did you click on update and refresh your page? You can also clear cache by going to the site manager and clicking on details. All the best!

Thank you! I was able to load them directly in word press. I will have to make sure to add the pictures before publishing in the back office next time. 😊

Make sure you refresh your website.

Lily 😁🎶

Yes. I had. I think the problem was that I published my post and then went back and tried to add the pictures. I was able to load them directly!

Great to hear Brittany.
Lily 😁🎶

It looks like you published your post from SiteContent to WordPress and the post and images are now in your WordPress Backoffice. Did you refresh your browser?

Have you checked the image link? Is it valid? You could delete it and add it again to see if that makes a difference.

Thank you! I got them to load. Thanks for reaching back out. Truly appreciated!

If you edited a document in site content and published it, future edits has to be done in WordPress. Site content and WordPress work independently.

I'd place my images in a document in site content and publish it to my site. it will be added to my WordPress media library. Then delete the “temporary image” doc in site content so that it does not get indexed as well.

Thank you. This helped!

You're very welcome.

How long does it typically take for a website to be ranked in google?

It depends on many factors, friend.
As you continue to write valuable and relative content, Google will see you as trustworthy.

You can, however, ask someone to search for your content, which could make you look like people are interested in your content.

This could help speed up your visibility. It may not be a decent approach, but at least you're not spamming people with your links, which will be the worst thing for your website and its content.

You can also search for your own content by going incognito. It could help with your ranking as well. All the best!

There is no typical time, sometimes right away and other times maybe a couple of days.

Okay awesome. Thank you!

Brittany,

Honestly doll, there is no "typical" time period for ranking in Google. It all depends on the quality of your article, and patients.

Just keep creating rich unique content, and your hard work will start shining.

Best of Luck,
Stacie

Awesome. Thank you!

Hi

It can take up to two weeks before it get indexed by Google. You'd get an email notificaiton when this happens.

It was indexed. I just posted my first blog post yesterday. I had already posted my about me page and privacy policy. I was just curious. Thank you!

First your posts get indexed and months later down the line start getting noticed by the search engines provided targeted keywords are searchable.

They fluctuate up and down the scale till Google decides where to place them.

Not all posts will get ranked, thus the recommendation to keep updating blog 2 - 3 posts a week and that's for the foreseeable future.

It really depends. But some general rule is that it usually takes 3-6 months to see some good rankings in Google taking in account that you regularly publish quality content on your site.

Perfect! Thank you.
