Day 9 of My Writing Challenge- How to Control My BIG MOUTH.3 B's
Good morning, Everyone!
My Laptop is frozen...In need of a password, from me...Today's Project!
Since, my commitment is strong, here I am anyway, using my cellphone, so my post will be short and sweet!
Learning to control MY BIG MOUTH, one of my biggest assets, as well as, deficits, was a real challenge!
Before, I could deal with the problem, I needed to understand, just why I had the problem, to begin with, the root source. I discovered, that the real problem stemmed from defensive "reactions" , when I felt threatened...usually, my EGO!
Practicing the 3B's, became my tool, as well as, a good habit, a real "gem" , I'd like to share! This tool allowed me to "respond" , rather, than "react" to situations!
The 3B's...Be quite! Back-up! ... and Breathe!
1. Be quiet!-Shut the mouth, first! Stop digging the hole! Many folks have no filter, and are ready to lash-out! Their problem, not mine! I'm defensive, not antagonistic, by nature. However, by now you've, probably, discovered, I don't "mince" my words. " You can take th teacher out of the classroom, but you can't take the classroom out of the Teacher!" I share the truth, as I see it, and offer folks an objective look, at the situation, thus themselves, sometimes, as well. Not one to feed their "feelings" , which change, rapidly!
2. Back-up!! - Remove myself, physically, first! ...Get away from the highly, charged, "negative energy field" . Either, by 2 feet or 2 miles, if necessary. I've even used 2000 miles. Time for a roadtrip!!
3. Breathe! - Thoughts come to mind... "It must really "suck" to be him/her!"! "You are, really, one arrogant_____!" ...I think the point is made, and sorry for the crude language. After venting to myself, I can process my own feelings and put them in perspective, NOT needing to share them!! I can, also, look at MY part in the situation! What a concept! It takes 2, to Tango! I, always, have a part!
This process helps me defuse the situation, allowing me, at the proper time , to discuss, and apologize, if necessary, or create a conscious boundary, against any further attacks. Some people are just, toxic! ...at least to this "soul".
In the end, it's about conscious choices! " We cease fighting!" Learning to "respond" the easier softer way.
This is coming from one who's favorite sayings was... "I pick my battles and if I'm going to fight, I WILL WIN, and you better not even TRY to go there!"
God, thank, for personal growth!! More will be revealed.

Hey Barb, great post. I can sure learn a lesson here. I have tendency to let my motor mouth overload my . . . you know what I mean. I am getting more mellow with age. I do quite a bit of work on my cell phone. It's okay but the autocorrect can get you in trouble if you're not careful. Lol. Great job.

Just to type, "Good morning, it's Veronica" would take me about 20 minutes...no...make that 25...I've been blessed (cursed?) with large fingers. Yeah...I know about the voice-activated thingamajig, but somehow, it doesn't quite understand the difference between "get up" and "ketchup".

I had an I phone, one day!!!
I do have a Blackberry...more money but the only one with an expendable keyboard, so Instead of my fat fingers, which usually have nails, I type with my thumbs. Today, they have sore muscles from the workout! LOL

Hi Barb, well you are going to have to take another flight, since in 2001 I moved fro Miami Beach, where i lived for 11 years, to Munich Germany, and now for the last 8 years I am in Asia, the Philippines! Ups...a long flight! Miami beach was really GREAT in the 90 ties, all trendy and happening, even had Madona, remember her...doing Yoga in my building on the beach! Nice time back then! Then over the course of 10 years it became to commercial and just TOO HIP, so I moved on! Have a great weekend!

Hope you found the solution to the computer breakdown. I have that problem from time to time.
I found good virus security plus malaware security. I run them
every day and find I have caught something everytime.
Also the modem needs a password, a lot of stuff gets through here.
We all learn from mistakes or happenings.
