Hey Brian,
Posts and Pages are clearly labeled on the left sidebar when you sign into your WordPress website. See screen print below...
If you click on Posts > Add New you will be publishing a post; if you click on Pages > Add New you will be publishing a page.
Hope this helps you.

What do you guys think of this niche and target audience? My niche is coping with brain cancer, and my target audience is people who want to cope with their own brain cancer.</
Great! There's lots of targetable keywords http://d.pr/i/ssRNpM and plenty of books and kit you can review and affiliate via Amazon to get you started. :)
As a niche it's great, but I have one main caveat. Don't attempt a medical niche dealing with cancer unless you really know your subject. By that I mean you have a brain tumour or you are living with someone who has, or a very close relative has
coping not curing. I provide a humorous take on my own experiences of coping with my own brain tumor.
Brian that's perfect and the humour is great too. Cancer is not a niche you should go into either coping or curing without experience. And I say that from the point of view of someone who lost their husband to cancer last week
by the way, my condolescences for your loss Kat. It's a tough road. I watched (and still watch) my mother go through the loss of her husband (my dad) to pancreatic cancer 5 years ago. Hang in there.
