This is a kvetching rant! I had enough of these spammer/scammers.

This is one of my pet peeve about the Starter plaform. IMHO, starter needs to be removed. A high number of fake profiles conducting spam and scamming people come though as Starter. Its very obvious. They use fake profiile with fake names even have spelling errors in their blog and their sole purpose to scam people to market their scam.

Kyle, you posted the Offical Posting Rules at WA Platform the other day but that does nothing to prevent spam and scammers from entering this platform. Are they really fake profiles, or bots?

You need to remove them as fast as people hit the report spam button. Too many starter coming through spamming the whole community. Many other platforms have a 3, 7, 14 day trial period and make them pay, this platform dont so you wonder why so many starter people come in to SPAM people-this is why.

My proposal is to end the Starter-instead offer 7 day trial and make them pay premium this shows seriousness and weeds out spam and scammers right off the bat. You guys never have done this since the inception of this platform.

This WA is not exactly a scam/spam free community if you continue to allow Starter fake profiles or fake bots enter just solely to scam and spam people. I always thought that Starter cant blog but sure enough they can-why? That is a good way to SPAM. Like the photo says, its not food! Its an Internet SPAM.

See this fake profile- you can tell its fake because the English do not make sense. Its just SPAM.

Warning! Dont fall for this person being real, it isnt a real person. Watch out for Starter platform, I been here almost three years, see this a lot and I still have many scammers as Starter following me -someone informed me that Starter can't blog well obviously they can. Thats really smart, eh?

So what you going to do? Keep allowing people like to enter and SPAM us?

I don't follow anyone just because they follow me. No blind follows, even folk who have been here a while if they are "just buying the crown" but I never see them interacting, properly I might add. I tell them how I see through this, and unless they are going to kick it in gear, example, example, why are they here?
I like you very much Brenda, you are spunky and very smart!

I got a spam message piggybacked on someone else's profile page about a week ago, asking for my personal email, and to invest in XYZ.
I wrote the person a response, telling them they were SPAMMING me, what it was, how to find the article, Spam is a No No, and that I was sending the conversation to "Management" They do not need to know Who that is, but we do.
And I don't need to know anymore except they got the warning, the reason, and Management took care of it! Boom!
Suzay

Thanks Suzay, smart response to the trolls. So far, I haven't been getting anymore of them because I put a disclaimer at the bottom of my profile letting others know that I will not tolerate any spam messages from newbies or members who are spamming me for investing into xzy companies or cryptocurrencies, which people think its a hot commodity. I appreciate your comments. Thanks.

I appreciate your point of view and experience. And there was a guy at Jay's, I think he said he had a hearing problem, is that a thing you could help or communicate with him? Maybe he's got it handled, I do not know, but I do know you might help him if he needed it.
I was trying to keep track of my little note, but can't find it right now. After another busy day throwing my body on the "reset button", you know what I mean! Anyways, when I find his name, again, can I give it to you?
Thank you so much, Brenda!

Sure sent me a PM, if you ever find it. Have a great week.

Sorry about the continuous issues you are having. I have been here a long time, and have not had an issue. I don't follow everyone that I get a notice from until they have been here about 2 weeks, Thanks, Sami

Thats an excellent idea I will try to remember to wait. I mostly unfollow when I realize they scam and spam people.

Hi - I know you have had a lot of problems in the past, but free starters can only communicate with the platform for their first 7 days, and they can't use PMs at all. So, yes, they can write one blog post per day for 7 days or respond to comments or ask questions.

As regards starters still following you, a member's profile remains on the system even if they have not interacted with WA for years. It doesn't get deleted unless they remove it themselves or Kyle removes it.

I am aware they can stay starter forever and still remain on the system until its removed, Thanks for the reminder. Diane, thanks so much for explaining. Now I know its 7 days.

Thanks for the reminder that starter members cannot pm at all, not even during the first 7 days. Was too long ago for me to remember. 😊

Brenda can you give an example of how do you get spammed? As in how and where?

When they follow me, send PM, etc, I was told that they cant blog nor sent PM but it happened to me many times most were regarding dating scam. Fake profile cat-fishing, other scams related to make money online scam and blog on WA-thats clearly spam nobody writes like that, English is poor and most likely copied from the Internet some are using photo of people who are on IG, or FB to put fake photo and not real person. I had to PM Kyle, a few got removed, orhers stay free and still following me I cant get rid of them. They cant blog or PM as you can see from the fake profile listed above can blog to spam. Only way is get Kyle to notice it.

I am sorry to hear you have these issues. I am probably just very lucky that I have not experienced much of this as yet.

The blogging aspect and private messaging should only be available to starter members for the first seven days, so they are able to try out all features without restrictions.

If you noticed that this is not the case that free members' blogging and pm rights are revoked after 7 days, you should certainly make Kyle aware, as then it means there is a fault in the system, as this is certainly not how WA intended it to be.

I think you can unfollow them, Brenda, though that does not always help!

Jeff

Did that, but doesn't do any good like you stated.

I figured as much, Brenda!

Hi Brenda,
There is an old saying in Guyana that goes like this, "don't throw out the baby with the bath water." I wrote it in English rather than patwa so everyone can understand.

It means that you should not toss out the good with the bad or don't toss out a good thing just because of a bad experience.

One of the best selling points for WA is the payment structure. The ten free courses then discounted first payment.

Some people take their business life very seriously. That includes the amount of money they spend on programs. Ensuring it is a good investment and such.

I am certainly one of those persons.

The fact that a working person can come on this platform and try this course (first 10) without time limit is a great selling point.

Not everyone work quickly or has the flexible schedule to complete the course in the suggested 7 days.

Additionally the second benefit of a discounted payment is like a owner's guarantee. You are standing behind your program.

Giving the person a chance to look around and try the program before making a serious financial commitment.

Not being willing to spend money on something without a look inside doesn't mean you aren't serious. In fact a serious business person wants to see what he is buying.

Much of the first ten course is spent looking around WA getting familiar with the platform and such so I think the second discount is a wonderful move.

All this is great marketing strategy and I applaud the creators for it.

I do believe that preventing new members from blogging until they upgrade may be a good thing, providing that they are still able to connect with other members on the platform and comment on blogs.

This is because the comradery on this community is one of the things that also cause others to want to stay. We find a home here.

As I said this is indeed unfortunate but I don't think that everyone should be made to pay for the act of a few.

My apologies for the lengthy read, I understand your reason for being upset but much of what I said is what sold me on this community and I would hate to see it changed.

Candy Benn

Hi Candy, a few? You haven't been here long enough to see this, I have. I got your point. Thats exactly it, serious people will upgrade to premium. Trial period to test out the platform. Many can stay on the free starter like forever, most of those don't stay, create an account then long gone, or stay as free in order to spam -we got a lot of those in the last few years and Kyle has to weed them out. Its my experience that having a trial period works many platform uses a trial period before upgrading to their services. The problem is the starter version can be free like forever, I have those following me still spamming and scamming me its annoying. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts are worth it no matter how long.

I find that interesting. About continuous spam. I thought wright privileges for starters was revoked after 7 days or some such. Can't remember the time line.

That too is necessary, if it isn't being done.

Candy Benn

I guess not. Thats why I am asking what can be done to solve this problem ignoring it aint gonna go away.

I understand.
