Google December 2022 UpdateOnce again, Google is updating its content system starting yesterday and rolling it out for the next couple of weeks.
Here is the announcement made by:
Most of you should subscribe to keep updated on what is happening with Google.
This is an important reminder for all of us.
Why do we need to know this?
We need to make sure that we write high-quality, helpful content. They will be rewarding those sites that match this update.
Write for Humans- Do Not Use Artificial Intelligence
If anyone uses AI or writes low-quality content meant for the search engine, not for humans, as ParthaB teaches in his WA blog posts, you will see your traffic drop. Partha talked about this Google December 2022 update in LiveChat. Sorry, I spy on you, Prince Partha.
Now would be a good time to review your articles to ensure you follow their guidelines for helpful content and writing with human beings in mind.
If your article looks like it needs revising, then please do that. I spend a lot of time editing mine.
I want to make sure that I am providing helpful, high-quality content. I do not abuse or try to game Google for ranking.
Those who do will lose their ranking with this Google December 2022 update.
Keep up the excellent work. Follow the training and the lessons.
Be patient if Google does not index all of your articles. Google never explicitly stated when or how long that would take to index your articles. Sometimes it can take weeks or months.
Conclusion
With this helpful content update, if you follow Google's update to its core, you will be rewarded for that.
Go and get 'em, guys.

The really helpful part about this is that if you make value to your audience your focus, more often than not you’ll be doing exactly what google wants. Yes, there will be algorithms that create a loss of traffic for you from time to time, but in the long run, if you’re playing the long game, most of your content will be in a good spot. Always create the best content that gives the most value to your audience. :)
Exactly, Eric. I agree. Yep, that's the key point; you hit the nail on the head, the best content gives value to the audience. I learned it is important over time not to let ourselves slack off on giving value.
Thanks for the info, Brenda! Google, as I have always said, is a fickle beast, indeed!

SEL is a great up to date source everyone should subscribe to. They seem to have some inside help in Google.
Partha was on point again. Write original content answering the question and provide the helpful solutions.
I too have edited/updated some of my articles a few times. Especially if I come across something relative and current that is helpful.
its a saying my granny use to say when she would let you know she is watching you. She would say eyeballing.
Oh did she. When grandma said she was eyeballing you she was and know how much coffee was left inside her canister and dont even talk about her money. 👀 I miss her so much. I miss those coffee days.
I understand how you feel about missing her. Ms. Kida, I got to get busy. I have some videos to watch, and I need to draft up my website articles. I have to stick to a schedule. I have a couple of hours left to go to finish this. You know you can always PM me anytime you want. I will always respond.
Hi Mike, sure. Sometimes, the updates can put fear into people and make them hesitate not to write due to fear of losing traffic. I felt that way before in the beginning when I first joined WA. I was reading too much into everything and then procrastinated doing the inevitable. ParthaB is the one who got me going. I thank him a lot for pushing me beyond my limits.
Thank you, Mike. Read Eric's comment. That is so true in what he stated. Eric's classes teach us that always give value to our audience.
Yes you are right, thanks for the tip. I admit I got a little lazy.
I'll start work tomorrow, I promise.

You sound like me, famous last words, eh? Tomorrow comes, then it's another tomorrow and tomorrow. I have this tendency to procrastinate. Do not feel bad. I do it all the time. I get lazy too. Everybody does that every now and then. I stick to a schedule. It's essential to follow through with them.
But I promised and I always keep my promises.
You certainly put the wind at my back, thank you Brenda🖐️

It's 20 minutes after midnight for me, considering that I slept a total of 8 hours the last two days, it would be time for me to rest and sleep.
I wish you a pleasant day or afternoon.

There is so much to unpack here. Some folks think Google will be obsolete in a few years with the advent of ChatGPT. AI isn't going anywhere and will only improve, so we'll see how that plays out. It's funny because I don't know where we draw the line. Grammarly is a robot, we click, and it automatically updates based on suggestions it makes. Sometimes it rewords an entire sentence. Surfer SEO and other tools scrape the top sites for content that should be included in articles. There is some very well-written AI content, but you HAVE to edit and use it as an assistant. Yeah, if you just push a button and hit publish, that's a problem.
Hi Steve, I did read about ChatGPT. I can tell you that Barry at Search Engine Land and Google replied that they found it very limited. It will never take over Google. Google's AI was designed by humans. AI was designed by humans who used programming language but lacked emotional content.
I used all of this AI software, and one thing it cannot do is write human emotional content. Google is getting smarter at catching those and punishing those sites that rely totally on AI.
AI, as you said, is supposed to be an assistant, a tool to be used; however, it can never replace human emotions. Just like Data, in Star Trek, he was programmed, but he had no emotions. That's exactly what AI is all about.
I found myself spending hours and hours editing those AI content words. It's crap. If I do all the writing myself, I know I am writing about human connection. People don't buy from AI content. People buy based on emotional buying. You, as a human, connect with your readers. That's the bottom line.
ChatGPT can construct Alice in Wonderland's story of falling into the rabbit hole, but one thing it can't do is tell us the moral allegory of what the author was trying to convey, which is applied to real-life examples.
AI can't write my life story because they wouldn't know my personality. My writing human voice shines through my personality that AI can never do, capcise?
I have to disagree. It's not all crap. If you use the right commands, tone of voice, etc., AI produces some good content. The user needs to use it as an assistant. Yes, it has to be edited for facts, repetition, etc. The output can be as good as a "decent" writer if the user provides good inputs.
