I offer a free course - 21 Days to Start Earning an Income from Blogging - over at my website for bloggers. It's got good traction, but is that too long? Those of you who have

Brandon, looks like you have some great answers. My only recommendation would be to test and measure. Don't know if you can split test your free course, but I would be looking at some one to test your changes against how your unchanged course is performing.

I have not created an email course, but have consumed my fair share. I like the idea of breaking it down into 21 steps, but I think 21 days in a row would be a little overwhelming. I'd probably recommend weekdays, so 5x per week over the course of roughly a month..

Awesome! After getting a few good answers here, I've built several breaks in now in the flow of the content, so it stretches 26 days, but I'll see how it goes and might even add in more.

If it's 21 days, then you can do 21 days in a row or send an email every other day... so as not to overwhelm someone's inbox.

Good point. I did add in a few days as breaks, so the 21 days take about 26 days to get through.

It can be information overload at times otherwise and you want to avoid this. I had subscribers complain that they were getting too much at once.
I recommended that they SAVE the emails and then go to each one as they completed whatever TASK the prior one had.

One of the email lists I've subscribed to sends one email each day linking to a video. There are 100 videos in the series (I'm up to video #27) so I'm expecting to get at least 100 emails from this blogger.

Wow. Cool. Sounds like Tai Lopez' 67 Steps.

Your feedback tells the story Brandon. Keep doing what you're doing. Seems like your client's are happy with the time frame.

I suppose you're right. Thanks so much!

Just like everything else, it takes testing.

many GURUs' will tell you that you need 52 messages or one for every week in the next year.

Other fall back on the original training of between 5 and 12.

Some will actually tell you to 'load up as many as you can and write at least 5 more each day to load in. Then you will check to see when the most 'unsubscribes' come in!

Te point is NOT how many, although you do not want to send them more than one a day. The point is are you delivering quality information and are they bringing them back to your website to get some more info....

That's a fantastic answer, and very confirming. I keep getting excellent feedback and the unsubscribe rate is less than 0.1%, so I will be at peace with it.

I've used Mailchimp for years but they frown on affiliate marketing. Just switched to Aweber but also testing ConvertKit and GetResponse. Any of you have enough experience to r

I switched from MailChimp to Mailerlite. I find it much easier to use. The pricing for under 1000 subscribers is pretty much hard to beat given that they allow the use of their autoresponder at that pricing tier.

Yes! Glen mentioned them and I'd never heard of them. So I made the switch and now get twice the number of subscribers for the same price as before.

I will check them out.

Thanks for the alternatives listed!

Is Mail Chimp in the mix here?...just askin'

I'm actually moving away from Mailchimp because of the price and their negativity toward affiliate marketing. But they are awesome otherwise!

I switched from AWeber to MailerLite. ML has comparison tables showing the differences between ML and other popular EMS.

Awesome!! Gotta check that out!

When you calculate your commissions on a monthly basis, do you count it up by the amount of sales commissions? Or by actual payouts when you received the money? Just curious.</

Actual payouts

...I use managerial accounting and it works best for me...
