You Need People to Help You Get There

Teachability might be one of the most overlooked virtues in leadership and business today. When you stop learning, you stop growing, and when you stop growing, so do the ventures you're leading.

In other words, your personal development is always in front of your business development. And one of the most significant ways we grow is by leaning on the support of others.

I just got off the phone with a coaching client. We've just started working together. He's excited. He's got a lot going for him. And I noticed, as he was talking about what he's currently doing, he kept mentioning things that others had advised him about along his journey.

In other words, he sought me out as a coach, but I wasn't the first. He had sought out quite a few others before me. And that's one of the reasons I believe he's going to get the job done well.

Successful people seek out wisdom from other people, whether directly or indirectly.

You need coaches and mentors directly helping you, and if you don't have them, you can find them all over the web if you know what to look for.

And you need people indirectly helping you through their content. That means you need to be reading books, listening to podcasts, taking courses, saying "yes" to some of those free webinars you keep getting emails about, and taking notes along the way.

Keep looking around and learning from everyone. It's a mark of wisdom, and a step toward success!
