Science shows that passion is contagious, literally. You cannot inspire others unless you are inspired yourself. You stand a much greater chance of persuading and inspiring your listeners if you express an enthusiastic, passionate, and meaningful connection to your topic.
Yet so much of our writing and of what we have to say on video is passionless. It's a pitch. It's copywriting sales-speak.
The truth is, brochures have never sold anything. They might answer some questions, but passionate people sell things. Passionate people lead movements and make a difference and change the world.
Passion is more than emotion. It's certainly more than excitement. Passion is an ancient word that has to do with suffering. It's aching over something.
And when people sense the passion in your effort, they take notice.
