6 Months as a Premium Member

Last Update: July 27, 2017

Six months here as a Premium member. Cool.

The first time I came across Wealthy Affiliate, I was quite skeptical.

I'm a pastor, so "wealth" is a tricky issue for me. I don't believe money is the end goal. Money can be a means of making a difference.

  • It can bring financial peace, but only when we handle it wisely.
  • It can give us a sense of security, but only when we understand the emotional side of it.
  • It can help us make a difference, but only when we hold it loosely and give it freely to those in need.

But the affiliate part thrilled me. Every time I make an affiliate sale, the thought goes through my head... Yes! I CAN do this! And that's kinda cool.

When I first joined, I worked through all of the coursework and applied what I was learning. Since then...

  • I've earned enough in Amazon commissions to pay my cable bill each month twice over.
  • I've earned enough in Wealthy Affiliate commissions to pay for my annual membership three times over (and it's only been six months, and it's scaling up each month).
  • I've made some really valuable connections with people who have invited me into other opportunities from which I have learned and earned.

Wealthy Affiliate is a pretty awesome resource, but only for people who are looking to learn and not just earn, connect and not just click stuff, and do the work of building something valuable for the world.

I still say that it's about influence, and income is the bonus.

If you're on the fence, joining is worth it. Premium is worth it. But commit to learn, to contribute, and to build something of real value.

Otherwise, you're wasting your time no matter how much money you make.

Thank you Brand for your comment. it looks like a strong message not to look only the money side but also the real value that can be attained by joining it. Yes I feel the same.

I like very much what you said because it goes along the line of how I also feel. My time here at WA has been because I am on a mission. Not the kind you might be thinking it is a health mission. but also a blessed mission in many ways.
Always a better way

Premium is well worth it, but like you said, you've got to be willing to put in the time and work and be willing to learn. I've been a premium member for quite awhile and while I am earning some revenue, it certainly is not enough to pay any bills at the moment, however I haven't always been consistent in my work so I know that the fault lies with me.

I have not given up however and I will not give up either as I do know that when I do put in the work, there are results that do happen. Last year was the very first time I ever earned revenue from my website thanks to Google AdSense. This year has been the very first time I've made affiliate sales. Who knows what the future will bring, but if I keep working, I know it will be bright.

Sure thing, Pat. I've been developing websites for about a dozen years and blogging about that long, too. When I joined WA, I launched bestchristianbooks.xyz which ranks very well for some good keywords and earns a good income from Amazon. And my main blog, brandonacox.com has improved greatly since I joined as well.

I appreciate your insight. I'm a pastor as well (missionary full-time in Peru), and the idea of a business has been something I too have had to wrestle with. My goal is not to only make money, but have more to do more, to reach more people for the Lord when it's all said and done. Being in Peru, the best option for a business seems to be online affiliate marketing. And I've been praying about where and how to get started. I found WA (or perhaps better said, was LED to WA) but have not yet committed to the premium membership. With six months in, and prayerful dedication, I'm glad you've seen positive results and that everything is legit. May the Lord bless you and your family, and thank you for sharing .

Adam, very cool to hear! I have another friend down there in Peru named Jason Wollbrink.

And our Student Pastor spent 8 months there with the IMB of the SBC.

Keep doing what you're doing!
