what software or what camera do you use to make the videos you post?

I use a Canon small camera and I use Vegas software.
I know Camtasia is a better sofware but Vegas is half the price, for the moment it works great for me.
My YouTube channel is growing good everyday and making videos is getting easier for me.

We are going to use our DSLR and go for the Screenflow to start.

Screenflow for Mac captures your screen, video and audio. You can also zoom in, add text, do transitions and many other edits.

Camtasia is the equivalent for PC.

For an inexpensive camera that produces HD quality video, I use Logitech C920 webcam.

For an inexpensive microphone to produce high quality sound, I use Blue Snowball iCE or Blue Yet.

Screenflow.. Does that mean that its the one to use when you are wanting to stuff on your screen and not your face? sorry if that is a silly questions - i am VERY new to vids!

I just use the in-built camera in my laptop and a set of earphones with microphone.

For recording I use Icecream Screen recorder and for editing Movavi.

They are simply and easy to use programs

Capture video
Windows: Camtasia
Mac: Quicktime or ScreenFlow

Edit Video:
Windows: Adobe Premiere
Mac: iMovie or Final Cut Pro

I've just used the built in camera on my chromebook, probably not the best but it seems to be clear with decent sound too. I'm curious to see what others use now you have asked. Thanks.
Claire

I use the easy video maker software to make the videos I post.

Hi Bo

I use the built-in camera of my laptop, but the sound quality is not so good.

A trick I saw was to use an old pair of earphones with a built in mic, cut the ear buds off and plug the cable into your laptop. Then either lay the mic on the laptop in front of you or attach it like a lapel mic.
This may help.
Claire

Hi Claire
Thank you, I will try that trick :)

I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking. Some say they use some software on Mac, some use Camtasia.

I'm not much for being on camera so I use either VideoBuilder or Animation Studio for Explainer Videos.

What would help you with building your business if you knew a little more about it?

Yes the is a reason for asking these questions. I will pick a couple of answers and tr

I seen this question a couple of days ago and I have been thinking on it. I think one thing I have put on the back burner that I need to learn about is errors that google search console is saying that I have. How to help resolve them or at least what they mean.

I think it's always helpful to know different ways of driving traffic to my website. For example if one turned a post into a PDF, what would be the best directories to submit? And if one did that, would there be a question of duplicate content to worry about.
Also what would be the easiest way to turn a post into a video?

Thabo

Reading charts, analytics etc understanding some programs eg
Canva & Squirrly & so many more. I'm not greedy but some tutorial would show me how they work, I'm sure they are all related, once one learns about how one works it is easier to apply that knowledge to another.
I belong to a computer club & I am amazed how little members know, and how muddled their thoughts can be with so much input.
Usually it is the most simple things that can undo them.
Thanks Bo for your care.

What a great question and what a fantastic offer.

I see many have asked for more info on how to interpret Analytics and I am pretty much in the same boat.

Analytics is there to help with ranking our pages etc. but they don't tell you if what you have chosen as a niche and the product you have chosen to sell will become a viable business.

Clearly there are no guarantees that the product sells like baked bread on a cold afternoon but I would love to know how to determine the odds.

It seems a but disheartening to know that you could write 100 posts and have all the correct SEO in place, have analytics looking 100% and still not sell.

I ask because I tend to find my opposition is usually big name brands.
The alternative may be to promote less known, cheaper and possibly inferior products but that doesn't sit comfortably with me as I don't like recommending someone spend their hard earned money on junk just so that I can earn a commission.

Looking forward to whatever training you come up with though.
To me any knowledge is good knowledge and in this business we need to keep up to date with the latest.

Cheers

Hi Bo,
Thank you for your generous offer of assistance. It's very kind of you. - I see below that many of the members responding have mentioned analytics. I would agree that this is a good topic to cover in more detail. If possible, I would also suggest a training session on search methods for locating and screening the best and most reliable affiliate marketing opportunities online. I know that not all A.M. programs are created equal and often vary greatly(commission schedules, when and how paid, etc.). Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Dave

Thanks, Bo. You truly care for us "turkeys". LOL!

For me it's analytics. Everything analytics! Setting it up, where does my number fit in my website, how to read it, just to name a few.

Second would be, how do I post my blogs to my different social media sites?

I don't know about everyone else, but I need step by step clarity in directions or I get lost. Don't assume I know a step. I probably don't :(

Thanks, Bo, I'm looking forward to your tutorial.

Candice

Thank you for the information. I am checking it out now.

Hi Bo,
Man you're very unique . You're altruist and really care about others. Thank you BO for your offer.
What would help me is : Understand better Word-press and social media tools to be able to move forward faster. I have to spend long hours doing so much reading to move to my next level ( AdWords, SEO, content, conversion, and analytics)- sorry but any one in the sequence that I could get some help it would push me to the next step.
Once again I appreciate your unselfish and unbelievable offer.
Thanks and have a great day

You asked this in a previous video and I had to think about it. By the time I got my thoughts together, I couldn't remember where you had posted it. Thanks for asking again. I need more help in Analytics. Yes I can see how many people visit my site and what pages they look at and such, but I just don't know how to use that information to my advantage.

Hi Shelley,
I was about to say the same and saw your message. I do want to learn how to read and use information in Analytics. Hope Bo will create a training on this.
Sharon

I'd like to know, what you say about:

Where and how to place the products I promote, so it has the best effect - so my visitors get aware of them.

I have so much to learn still.
It's very late at my longitude.
I'm sure more things will come to my mind
:-)

Hi Bo
1) Getting traffic without using Social Media.
2) Getting traffic without using Social Media.
3) Getting traffic without using Social Media.
LOL!

A few years ago we had a VERY, V-E-R-Y serious problem with a person who tried to steal our identities (I don't want to go into too much details here - seeing that these posts are indexed in Google as well), but for that reason we are avoiding social media. So we need to find alternative marketing methods.

I know social media is the easy way out - but after all the trouble we had - it is just not worth the risk.

If you have any ideas to share, that would be highly appreciated!

Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

I don't know what happened there , but I agree. I would love to know how to get traffic and NOT have to use social media too.
I had my profile private for a reason. Now I feel so exposed. I was on with accepting friends that I see on here all the time, but then it was no longer familiar faces.

Yes, I saw a YouTube video that somebody linked to and all of a sudden there were many unfamiliar faces and although some left their WA screen names - it did feel strange to me as well, so I fully understand what you say Lee.

I think that experience taught me why it is so important to keep the same profile picture everywhere and not to change it.

In real life we are used to our friends looking a little bit different every day, but if they "look different" online, it feels like total strangers.

People get used to our profile pictures and they know what to expect of you. Don't confuse them. ;-)

Wishing you all of the very best Lee! :-)

Hi Bo,

For me, the book that urged me to change is: Quiet by Susan Cain. The subtitle is: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. It prompted me to do things I never expected I'd do. My presence here at WA is an example of my change.

Thank you for the question,
Lovetta**

Changed the way i think ;A new Earth , The Secret, Think and Grow Rich.

Changed the way i do things; Rich dad poor dad, the richest man in Babylon, the millionaire next door and no more Mr Nice Guy

that one book that influenced me the most( for me its Books);
Philosophies and Opinions of Marcus Garvey
Steve Jobs

This is a wonderful question!
I LOVE to read books, since I can remember!

Thankful for all the great tips I have become by reading all the comments!

Now, over to your question, Bo.

I must name 3 books, one is not enough ;-)
Books that started to change my pattern of thoughts:

The very first one that started to twist my thoughts is
THE SECRET - by Rhonda Byrne

The second one is
THINK AND GROW RICH - by Napoleon Hill

The third one is
SECRETS OF THE MILLIONAIRES MIND - by T. Harv Eker

The more I read, the better I understand the following books I read. It's like a puzzle, at the beginning there are many "black" holes. The more I read the clearer gets the picture. Not in the "right" order. Sometimes really confusing, but with time the fog lifts.

Exactly like learning the online business.
I often don't see the forest because of all the trees.
Then it's good to have you Bo, lifting the fog away.

:-)

I love this question and reading the answers everyone has given. My game changer book was Jen Scincero "How to be a Bad Ass" just over a year ago.
I am in the process of learning from "The game of Life and How to Play it" by Florence Scovel Shinn at the moment.
Claire

There are so many, over so many years.....

Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance by Rober M Pirsig. For, on one single page, make me understand how to be involved with what I do.

The One Minute Manager Meets The Monkey by Ken Blanchard. For solving a hands-on problem that made me work 14-hours peer day..

The Art of War by Sun Tzu. For giving insight in strategic thinking.

The Hardy Boys book series. From I was around 7, this series took me into the world of reading.

And most recent:Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. For helping me improve how I make my judgements.

"The Power of Positive Thinking". It empowered me and built me up for a change. I had been so beat down and told how inadequate I was in all aspects of my life. I had even contemplated suicide. This book opened my eyes and gave the tools to turn my life around. It still impacts my life.

Candice

True, not an easy question and the answer is the same (so mana good books that help me to make one more Step, change one more thing...).
Now, my answer is "Get Rich, Lucky Bitch" by Denise Duffield-Thomas. It helped me to make a connection between theory and action and to start to understand myself better, the money blocks and what should I do. I like her style and I also want to do her trainings (working now on manifesting the money for the First training and i am already half way there :) ).
Oh, and you can use my name ;)

Hi Bo

Interesting question! First and foremost the Bible.

But after that I won't be able to choose. I've been trying to think of books, but we listen to so many audio books, that I find it difficult to distinguish whether it was an audio book or just a lecture or an actual book or ebook that I've read.

Names like Wayne Dyer (various!), Louise Hay (various!), Zig Ziglar (various), Brian Tracy (various), Alan Tutt (Choose to Believe), Karim Hajee (Creating Power), Jack Canfield (various), Nick Ortner (EFT), Robert G Smith (FasterEFT), Steven Covey (7 Habits of Highly Effective People), Og Mandino (The Greatest Salesman in the World), Gary Chapman (5 Love Languages), Napoleon Hill (Think & Grow Rich), Robert Kiyosaki (Rich Dad Poor Dad series) ....

As well as various smaller ebooks and less well-known authors... ;-)

Each one have had an influence in my life and often times one of them mentioned something and another of them expanded my knowledge about that same idea... which makes it almost impossible to credit one author for making the "biggest" difference in my life.

I am the sum total of ALL the lovely and awesome people that I have "met" - whether through their books, audio-books, audio lectures,, videos, over the internet, seminars attended or in person. ;-)

I'll keep mulling over this question and come back if I have reached a conclusion. ;-) LOL!

Sharlee (Chocolate IceCream)

Bo I liked reading books by Krishnamurti! Don't know what he was called but that man to me taught me a lot. He's kinda like you in a way. Well, not really but, to me, the similarities are there.

He had a series of small paperback books and in different colors too! He speaks in a deep way but, funny I do understand him. lols!

Very simple but deep. How is him like you Bo?

I don't know but there are parallels.

Hmmm...after I close this post I will remember others!!

Frank =)

Believe it or not, the very first book that sprung to mind was Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask (1969) because I think I WAS afraid to ask at that time. I was starting my first year of college and having been raised Catholic ( pre-Vatican II), I was suffering from what the Catholics used to call a "scrupulous conscience" where.......what i was taught was "wrong", and my own common sense intellect, were doing battle and all this was fueled by raging hormones. I do believe this clever and timely little book and its uncensored and reasoned approach to, indeed, EVERYTHING about sex may very well have saved my life.

Sorry, Bo. This was probably TMI.....but you did ask. LOL........John T

Okay I will admit it I am being nosy.

I have made a lot of wonderful friends on here but do not know a lot about you. I know many of us have moved around a lot and where

Hey Bo, Canberra, Australia.

Most of the now crowded suburbs here were still just messy nature reserves when I was a kid. I loved the long bush walks and whole days out on a rusty bike. Yabee ponds everywhere. This place is also noted as the Australian City with the largest variety of bird species. I love bird watching!

My city has changed and grown a lot in a short time. Outsiders often only know it as the Capital and seat of government, but the majority here (check the stats!) work for small and medium business. The natives meanwhile, regard it as an overgrown country town. Some of my friends are descendants of the farming families that lived here prior to the 1927 foundations of the city.

I first started traveling as a teen. I volunteered with combat medics in war zones, and then toured with European orchestras and ensembles. I’ve travelled a lot for different kinds of work. It’s a fun way to see the world. But I love home a little bit more each time I return to it!

FYI: This city’s blueprints were designed by an American husband-wife architect team, with a vision of a green ‘bush capital’ not really seen anywhere else. That can surprise or disappoint people, depending on their expectation of what a capital should seem like. It’s nature reserve after nature reserve.

I really like that incorporation of wilderness into planning, but I may be biased because it was such a big part of my childhood. :)

The UK Bo!

No pictures of the area but I was sent the following image from my sister. I am amazed we had a camera, such a run down area we lived in! Bloody horrible even!

Not great memories!

I always look happy enough, even these days! Pic dated 1970.

Wayne

Nice throw back pic, love it

A little scary, I don’t look much different today! Lol

Thanks

Wayne

Nice, Wayne!

Was - I - cute huh.....

No answers required, I want to keep this Saturday positive! Lol

Wayne

What! you wear your jeans up around your waist? shame......
Funny how things change.
Jae ♥

I see Flash4 pop up and I think oh no here’s trouble! Lol

Hey, I didn’t dress myself in those days - 47 years ago!

These days I like to wear my underpants on the outside of my trousers - just like superheroes do!

“WayneMan” - Batman was already taken! Never mind!

I hope your weekend is going fantastically!

Enjoy

Wayne

Thanks so much for making me laugh Wayne, lol.

Just loving the trousers.

Is your mum still in the same area or did you move to a better area? xxxx

You should see how she dressed me when I was 10, she sent me to school as an Indian Gurkha? I remember the sergeant badge she sewed on to the left sleeve!

OMG I still have sleepless nights. I used to wear brown NHS specs wit big thick lenses. I wasn’t a happy boy!

Just eating.

Wayne

You know how to cheer me up friend lol. Now that I would like to have seen.

I am not surprised you still have sleepless nights, poor you Wayne but see how you have turned now. That is the main thing.

That looks good, is it steak or chicken or something else though? xxx

Sorry Chez side tracked by a chicke! No we’ve always been in the same area, the locals didn’t tend to move much!

I suppose there’s a big long story of how I escaped it all!

I can’t believe Uncle Bo has asked the nosy question and I’m the only one to offer embarrassing moments! Lol

Darn funny attire even though I say so myself. I wonder if I ever set any trends?

Ok I’m going to hobble back!

Cheers Chez

Wayne

LOL

I hope it was the chicken on the plate that side tracked you and you weren't like Robert yesterday who was running around like a headless chicken lol.

I have plenty time to listen while you tell it then Wayne and there is always pm if you don't wan't to tell all.

I know Wayne, that is not fair, everyone getting a laugh at your expense. It was the trousers that did it for me lol. You never know, you must have set a trend somewhere.

I did put up a photo of me and my brother but the embarrasing ones I didn't think were right to put up but I will send them to you via pm to give you a laugh lol.

Hope you have been relaxing and watching what you're doing today. Not long now till you fly home.

Speak to you soon. xxxx

Oh gosh, I see those young chappies with their underpants showing above their longs and think how uncomfortable they must be, don't they feel the urge to jack up their jeans?
You must look real cute Wayne lately....but that is a funny thought..
Growing up is such a relief in some ways, able to make choices of our own.
Love you, Jae

Thanks Jae

I can’t really confess to have grown up yet but at least I am allowed to buy my own clothes and yes I do use a belt to hide my underwear!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Love you back!

Wayne

Pictures are funny to look back on, especially my trousers! Lol

I was in the decades of Bay City Rollers as well!! I’m pleased those pictures went astray!

Yes, a few things to do before Thursday, always busy these days!

Try and do something active again today!

Later Chez!

Wayne

All in a good days fun!

Wayne

Yes you were cute. Xx

I certainly do Jae, I always want to go up behind them and yank their trousers up. Xx

Pleased that was Up and not Down! Lol

Wayne

Ah well there is also that idea too Wayne, never thought about that one lol.

I have been doing it wrong all along lol. xxx

I grew up in Buffalo NY...don't have any pictures but there are always a lot on the weather channels...they just had a huge ice storm! Aside from the weather, the area was a great place to be raised. Lots of beautiful trees, close to Erie Canal and Niagara Falls. People are terrific. Great medical, terrific restaurants...and of course that's where my extended family all still live so it is still close to my heart....I only visit in the Spring and Summer, though. And you?
Debbie

Charlie, if such details are close-hold, you can also just choose not to comment. You know, it’s an option, right?

Unfortunately if one is on the www, nothing is totally private anymore.

I grew up a Navy Brat, so we moved a lot. I was born in Puerto Rico. When dad retired we moved to Nebraska where I graduate from High School. He was relocated for his work to Georgia when I was 18. We followed them to Georgia in 1991. Have been here since.

Hi Bo, was born and lived in Derby, England till 8yo then my parents moved to Australia on the 10 pound program in 1971 and have lived in New South Wales, Australia ever since. They refer to OZ as the lucky country, and it really is , it is really beautiful. If you ever get the chance to visit you should.
Jenny

I was born and raised in Wichita, KS now I live in a small town about 15 minutes east of there. I have some pretty deep roots so don't think I will be going anywhere. Love the mountains and the beach though maybe it is because I am just so use to flat land.

I grew up on a dairy farm in western NY in a small town between Buffalo and Rochester. Snow country.
Have been in several states but always loved NC. Lived in Florida, NC, NY and now back in NC for good. Been here 5 years. Just got a new house fall 2017 right before I found WA.
What about you?

Little me back in the 70's

I was born during the second world war in Keighley in Yorkshire, but was raised in South Derbyshire, mainly in Midway, which is between Burton-on-Trent and Ashby-de-la-Zouch, joining the Royal Air force at sixteen my location from then on was anywhere that I was sent, now we live back in Midway, where we have been for nearly 23 years.

Mailchimp and mailmunch.

On my first site which isn't commercial at all I used EWeber and Sumo, and now I'm wondering what's the best way forward for my new, more business-minded site. So far I like Eweber...
Any opinions greatly appreciated. :)

Hi Bo.

I use a free WP plugin called Email Subscribers & Newsletters. I realize that some themes have this already installed and available in the widgets area. Some themes require you to manually install and activate the theme before it is available for use under widgets.
