I did not want to look at tracking data or website statistics I wanted to hear from members here at Wealthy Affiliate how they got here. Their answers were no surprises.
The one that stood out from the others is exactly the one that Kyle teaches here at Wealthy Affiliate.
Almost half of the people who answered were brought here by a review.
Some reviews were not a review of Wealthy Affiliate but a review of another program that had information or a link to Wealthy Affiliate. Some of them were reviews of Wealthy Affiliate. This little informal survey shows just what Kyle says and teaches about getting signups with reviews works.
The next largest group came from Internet Searches. Using keywords that lead people to your page where you talk about Wealthy Affiliate still works. Most of the ones that used search were looking for an affiliate program to make money with. Something to keep in mind.
The third one on the list was Ads. People seeing an ad and ending up joining. I know some think that ads do not work but they do. The banner ads that are supplied to us do work. Their were members who answered the question that are here because of an ad.
Their were others mixed up in the list like family members, friends or neighbors told them about Wealthy Affiliate. A lot of different ways that people got here but the big three was
1. Reviews
2. Search Engine
3. Ads
Now you know. People out there are looking for what Wealthy Affiliate offers and it us up to us to you use one of these and show them how to get here.
I hope this encourages some of you to start seeking referrals and gives you some ideas of how to do that.
It is much better to not pay for you premium upgrade from your pocket but pay for it from what you earn from referrals here at Wealthy Affiliate.

Thanks Bo...This is really good to know and something I had definitely wondered about. I have had quite a few referrals from ads, banner ads in particular, but noticed that very few of them ever complete their profile and if they do they seem to stop there and not continue.
I had the same until I started looking at where the banner ads were. That kind of told me the quality of the leads. When I changed where the banners were to a better place I noticed more follow through from referrals. Something to think about.
You're right Bo...It is all about testing, time and perseverance. Also; I do get a better response from targeted places I paid to place the banner on rather than free general advertising sources.
