The Pokemon Go app was released on July 6th, 2016 to the US. On that day, it has been reported that there were 200,000 downloads. The download count is in the tens of millions now and Nintendo's stock has soared. They are making a lot of money with in store app purchasers from players trying to catch more characters to businesses that are trying to lure players. I wonder how many $99 packs of PokeCoins have been purchased in the last 12 days. Bloggers everywhere are rushing to get articles written and indexed to drive traffic to their website and take advantage of the BUZZ of this new game.

With this post, I am not looking for player testimonials. I don't really want to hear from those that have downloaded and played the game. I am not playing it. There is going to be many different scams introduced to try and take money from those that are trying to cash in from the phenomenal growth of this game. Is it possible to cash in with the excitement? I definitely see ways to turn this interest into income.

Be careful playing the game and be careful trying to cash in!

There are several new WA members here with pokemon in their username. I have found about 5 posts so far, mostly about playing the game. I know there are stories being posted on the Internet about the dangers of not looking where you are going while trying to find the pokemon. I don't know how many of these stories are true. Keep in mind that most of the reporting of these stories are to generate traffic back to a place that makes the person or business money. It is all about the advertising and sales. Every article I have read has got ads and/or affiliate products also posted on the page with the article. I have seen a lot of junk posts and I am sure you have too if you have been looking for it.. Nearly every lead system pitch page is trying to cash in on the game interest with promises of new business and sales using pokemon go.

Here at wealthy affiliate, you will discover all kinds of ways to make money with affiliate marketing. There is a lot of great training tutorials here that will teach you the right way to build a business online with a website and good programs. There are ways to use this pokemon go buzz to generate exposure and traffic. It could be profitable if you are able to convert this traffic to wealthy affiliate or to some other product/service. It may be a waste of time. I would love to hear from those that think it will help their business by writing articles about Pokemon Go.

Are you trying to make money with Pokemon Go?

yes sir, i am planing to make money from Pokemon Go and targeting this niche i have already registered a domain name called (freedownloadpokemongo).com but now i am little bit confusing to start blog about this game that will generate traffic because i m just a beginner in SEO, .....

Here, in WA also i m a beginner of 7 day training course. I will be soon premium here, i got this community very helpful. :)
Would you mind telling me some idea, what should i do now to generate traffic that makes money from this latest game? :)

You have to be careful about using domains that include licensed trademarks. There is always the possibility you will lose them in the future.

As far as content, do some google searches and look what others are writing about to give you an idea on content and what people are looking for.

It may be to early to rely on what the keyword tools show since it is so new. I haven't tested the tool here at wa or on jaaxy.com yet.

People are writing about the stats, the horror stories, the fun experience etc.. having a blog dedicated to the game could pose a challenge since the app is free and they don't have any kind of affiliate program.. being able to monetize it, could be a real challenge.

ON a bootcamp site designed to promote WA, you could write a few blog posts with the goal of getting them to come and join this community.

I received an email from Dave Kerpen (I'm on his list) on the 13th with some interesting information on the subject. In it he says there are 3 ways your business can benefit from PokemonGo (although it seems to me it would be more for a physical business) but here is what he said:

1) "Lure" Your Customers Through The Door
If your business is near a PokeStop, you can actually create something called a "Lure" to attract more Pokemon for 30 minutes. This will in turn drive lots more traffic through your doors for the next 30 minutes! Luring is an incredibly powerful tool, as long as your business is near a PokeStop. This direct quote is just one of many from business owners talking about this on Reddit:

"As a manger of a store, PoGo is f--king amazing. SO. MUCH. FOOT TRAFFIC. Time to invest in some Lures."

Here's the best part: A Lure will cost you less than $1!

All you need to do, inside the app, is tap the red Pokeball, Tap "Shop", scroll down and tap the purple Lure icon to purchase.

Remember to make sure you're near a PokeStop 1st - but as long as you are, you will find this to be the best $1 you've ever spent. Trust me.

2) Pick a Team (or all 3 Teams)

There are three main "teams" that people compete from in PokemonGo: Instinct (Yellow), Mystic (Blue) and Valor (Red). Why not create a special offer for people who are out playing the game? You could do something like "Team Yellow, 10% off tonight only!" and then switch up the offer the next day. Put a sign on your door, or better yet, post the offer through social media.

3) Use Social Media Content and Ads to Incite Pokemon Excitement

As you know, social media content is all about being relevant and engaging with people. Even if your business isn't near a PokeStop and even if you don't want to pick a team, you can still create and share relevant content to drive people through your doors. For example, maybe you want to have nothing to do with the game yourself. You could still post something like "Out playing Pokemon Go? Take a break a stop by for a treat." Of course, you can also advertise that content to extremely hyper-targeted audiences in your zip codes using FB ads.

I thought it was an interesting read but that's as far as I've gone with it lol.

Maybe someone else will find it useful. :)

Thanks Angela. I have read several articles about how businesses can benefit. Mostly brick and mortar retail businesses with a way to make money on something that these players will purchase. Getting them to also visit your website and click on a an affiliate link may be tough if they are hunting pokemon.

I saw where a pizza place was seeing huge returns on their lures... This only works if you are close to a pokestop.I guess it would be Ideal if your place of business becomes a pokestop. Not sure how these are decided yet.

I haven't played either but my roommate does. I suppose someone could do the 2nd or 3rd option with their online business. Offering special deals for one of the teams.
Not sure how you would know what team they are on but something to think about for sure. :)

I would think you would have to either be playing or have an employee playing the game to be able to truly benefit from offers. You need to know if the business is a good location for the game or if you need help making it a better location....I saw a business advertising that it was a pokestop the other day.. I plan to go by there and see what they are doing. I still do not want to download the app.

If you are doing any kind of local search websites and help local businesses, knowing about this game could help them and therefore help you...

Excellent points. Come to think of it, I manage a website for a local charity (Worksite Wellness Council of Louisville).
Since they are all about wellness and this game makes you active - might be worth it for me to research more.
Thanks for getting me thinking ;) lol

You are welcome Angela. I hope it works for you and them!

It's big. May just be a summertime fad Pokemon Was the top grossing app in the Apple Store last week, cashing about $2M/day. That's equal to the #2 & #3 combined. Volume could be because it's new, though #3 - Game of War Fire Age - is going strong after 3 years.

I sure as heck can't predict the future of Pokemon. Truth is, it's not even on my radar. It's definitely making news.

I don't think it is a fad unless they simply lose the ability to support it.. the resources have to be HUGE in demand. - $2 mililon, that is just apple. think about droid usage as well. I wish I had just 1/10th of a penny for every game played.. I have not played it yet./ Do they have in-app advertising also or is it just pokecoins purchases? Anyone know?

Pokecoin purchases only - I don't get any ads and you don't have to buy poke coins to do everything

Thanks Evie!

I play it together with all the kids.
To put it bluntly, I have been a little affected by it.
We have fun so my advice is up on the bike get some exercise but you play it.
It is a hundred times more fun than candy crush

Yes, if I had younger ones, I would probably look closer and consider playing it... I bought pokemon cards back in the day so that younger family members could have someone to trade with and play the game with...

Our kids are between 10 and 13 thats maby Why we had fun. But we Also meet older grown up fan out There, This game is for ewery one

I thought about doing a blog on that. People are going crazy with it. lol

as long as the content does not conflict with your niche, that is exactly the point I was trying to encourage with this post

Oh I wouldn't do that. Matter of fact, it has nothing to do with my niche.

Oh I thought you meant blog post.. were you talking about creating a new blog website about it?

Yes. Just a blog.

Why would you want to play a game thats killing people. I think Nintendo should be held for murder

I don't think it is the game that is killing people. You can't blame Nintendo or Niantic for people being stupid.

That makes no sense - it's the people who play it that are responsible for their behavior, not the game itself.

I agree with Bo.

Well if people wasnt playing the game they wouldn't walk in traffic or fall of a cliff trying to get a pokeman i drive a truck and i see it all the time people playing on there phones and causing accidents they should just get rid of cell phones and go back to play phones it was a lot safet

This discussion can go in a lot of directions and I should probably let this rest, but I can't. It isn't the game's fault that people are not watching what they are doing. It isn't the cell phone's fault that people text or play games when they should be paying attention to the road.

Maybe we should pull all motorized vehicles off the road. There would never be an auto accident in the United States,if you pull all vehicles off the road. IT WOULD BE MUCH MUCH SAFER!

Note: I do not support this statement of pulling vehicles off the road, I am simply adding this to illustrate my opinion that it isn't the games fault, or the cell phone's fault that these tragedies are happening. It is the fault of the person playing the game and not paying attention to what they should be doing.

People always seem to blame their own stupid behavior on something else to justify themselves Bo - not smart.

I never thought of that. I just found out about the Pokemon go thing this past weekend when my daughter was talking about it. She tried to tell me about it and I really don't know anything about it. I am not sure if I could use it on my website. I could review it. I will have to look. Thanks for the blog.
I like your go picture. Hope you don't mind if I use it on my website.

Thanks for coming by! The game is crazy!

yes you are my friend everyone here make money with it

Hope you can see a way to increase revenue - Best of Luck to you Justin!

thank you leader

My daughter plays it but I'm not trying to make money from it ;)

Thanks for the feedback Jude! It doesn't fit in with most niches. The bootcamp business niche blogs that are promoting wa may see some way to use this new BUZZ to drive some traffic.
