Why I Am No Longer An Ambassador - I've Been Certified

Last Update: August 19, 2019

This month, August 2019, will be my 6-Year anniversary here at Wealthy Affiliate. Those who have followed me here pretty much know that I have been a WA Ambassador for five of those six years. There was even a time for a little more than a year that I was rank #3.

IT HAS BEEN AN HONOR SERVING YOU

For anyone who has been or who still is a WA Ambassador knows it is an honor to be a contributor and a helper within this great community. And frankly, you do not need to be in the top 25 to be an Ambassador. I know there are many who were here before me that are not.

I recently decided to stop being so active within the general community to focus on another area for the sake of helping you all, or those who are not yet sure, how the entire Site Comments platform works. I am doing this to create thorough training.

HOW TO BECOME CERTIFIED

At the end of May 2019 I started my quest to become a Certified WA Commenter within the Site Comments platform. It can take some time because you have to reach 50 comments and a certain percentage for not skipping content that need comments and approval rating.

The latest version of Site Comments is far better than the original version in my opinion. For quite some time I was using the comments and feedback thread within the training to get my website comments. I even created training on how to and how not to leave comments.

As you know, getting quality comments is good for the rankings of your website and it is less likely that you will get low quality using Site Comments. So I have been spending most of my time on WA becoming certified, taking many screen shots along the way, for creating a tutorial.

I am sure many of you know how I like to make my tutorials as easy to understand as possible using lots of visuals. I just published one of two tutorials on how to use Site Comments 2.0 and will be publishing Part 2 shortly explaining how to make money while using it.

Yes, you can make some money using Site Comments but you must be certified first. This is why I have spent a lot of time doing this, because I needed to see firsthand how the money making process worked so I could inform members within my upcoming tutorial.

So if you do not see me as a WA Ambassador or if I pop back in near the bottom, it is because I am doing other things to help bring all of you some more knowledge about this great learning experience we know as Wealthy Affiliate or just WA.

I think I've learned from every Ambassador mentioned in this post and that also includes the current ranking Ambassadors. After many times trying to learn on my own, WA turned out to be the best decision I ever made involving learning this business.

Aside from the great training already offered on the platform it's the dedicated members like you that have helped so many of us succeed in our businesses.

I look forward to part 2 of the training and thanks for all the help you give to everyone.

Much appreciated.

You are welcome. I feel that the training created by myself and other members help to not just bring more knowledge but also to fill the gaps in the current training by Kyle.

No problem, Rob. We quite understand. You've been an invaluable source of inspiration and education to lot of us here, and I personally think that what you are moving into is just another way of being an ambassador. Thanks for all you continue to do for the community. More power to your elbow.

Congratulations on your certification.

It requires a LOT of time to read people's posts and to provide quality comments. Yet, I am confident that we are truly helping people by doing so.

Even if you do not currently have the ambassador title, I know that you add a lot of value to the community through the training that you have done.

For now, be content that a few newer people are getting to experience the satisfaction of having the ambassador title. It is fun reading their posts where they share their excitement when they first become one.

Yet at the same time, that means that one of our other cherished ambassadors have lost that designation. Even if temporarily. You never know, it may be the thing that keeps one or more of them a little extra motivated every day when they most need it.

I am confident that before long you will be both an ambassador and a certified commentor.

ps. Even though I try to do everything possible to not focus on rank, I was proud of the time period that I was an ambassador. So, your post did a great job of reminding me that I am still adding value to the community by serving as a certified commentor.

Thank you Sondra and I 100% agree with you. WA rank is really not as important in the long run as many people feel. The majority of members who are actually succeeding are not even Ambassadors.

Thank you for sharing Rob much appreciated

Great work you are doing behind the scenes.

Often times those working hard behind the scenes are the forgotten ones.

But know this you are appreciated. Keep up the great work you are doing.

It is a shame that people are not rated on from the site comments area.

Here's to making it happen

You are welcome Jennifer. I am hoping to get more members to start using Site Comments because it has many great benefits for our websites. But I think many are still hesitant because of how not good Site Comments 1.0 was like. This version is much better.

I keep saying I am going to go back but been really busy focusing on my content building.

I do like site Comments and will return to it.

Have a great week

Hello Rob,

Thank you for an excellent blog post, as usual!

I didn't realise she had been an ambassador for quite so long Rob, that really is quite an achievement and I know for a fact it takes a lot of work to stay there, I just managed a few months I believe!

I must admit Rob I haven't really read any of your tutorials but I would like to start looking at some of them, in fact, I look at very few tutorials here at Wealthy Affiliate from fellow Wealthy Affiliate's.

I will take a look at some of your tutorials in a minute as the subject sounds very interesting indeed.

Wishing you all the best Rob.

Thank you Roy. It is totally understandable that you, and others, do not read all of the tutorials posted by other members. I do not either. There is just too many of them and I have to pick and choose which members I would like to learn from.

Thank you for your reply, Rob. I have just been running through the content of your training, you have some really interesting subjects! I have just gone through your how to make money with your WA blog, very useful indeed and it is also confirmed something for me, which is great, thank you very much indeed. Have a great day.

You are welcome Roy. So many members do not know that they can link to their WA blogs and tutorials from within their websites and does NOT have to use their affiliate link of that WA blog and tutorial to get credit for an affiliate commission.

Thank you Rob, this is very good confirmation for me as it does seem very strange not adding an affiliate link! Potentially this is very very powerful.

It is powerful because you could include as many non-affiliate links to your WA blogs on your website like we include here within WA, and Google will see it as just a regular link. And we know how Google does not like a lot of affiliate links within our website content.

Hello Rob
Its always been a pleasure to read your blogs and go through your training.

I joined in 2013 as well but I had so much else going on in my life at the time it was almost a year before I decided to go full-time and signed up to the premium membership.

It was almost another year before I unintentionally became an Ambassador.

It sort of crept up on me simply because I like to help and encourage people to do their best.

Of course it helped that I was a trainer in my former 9 to 5 before I took early retirement and started on my work from home journey.

I will continue to do my best to educate new members on just what it takes to be successful as I know you will be doing the same.

I look forward to your future trainings and wish you success in whatever you do.

Onwards and upwards Rob and never look back.

Enjoy your Monday.

Thank you Robert. You are always one of the 5 Ambassadors, past and present (Labman, Loes, Marion & Trish) who I am happy to see answering questions posted to my tutorials and blogs. At least I know my commenters had their questions answered correctly.

Always happy to help and advise Rob.
You do get a lot of people replying to questions and to be honest with you their replies do more harm than good.

As you say, the members you mention are top notch as well as yourself.

Lets keep on doing what we do best and I'm sure those who truly want to learn how to make money from the net will appreciate our collective efforts.
Enjoy your Tuesday.

First off, Congratulations for reaching a 6 Year milestone here at WA!!!

It is to all our benefit that you are willing to devote so much time and effort into Site Comments as well as creating tutorials but I do hope you find time to post an additional blog or two now and then - I learn so much from them!

Thank you for all you do!

Thank you for your diligence and attention to detail. Site comments is such an under-used but beautiful resource and can be lucrative as well. I must say though in the last 4 weeks we have had some family illness and other events that have lost me my certification I too will be back in the hunt starting today.

Yes, I agree. Site Comments is an under-used yet great resource we have access to. Staying certified does take an effort to keep a minimum of 50 comments within any given 30 day period.

I think it's great you are creating training on the use and benefits the Site Comments platform here at WA can offer! It will benefit many members here!

Not only is getting comments an excellent way to boost your website rankings, but giving quality comments can pave the way to supplementing membership fees. It is a win-win all the way around.

I recently blogged about this opportunity myself and was shocked to find there were many who had no knowledge of the ability to make money with Site Comments.

Your training is much needed; thank you for taking the time to do this :)

Best, Shannon

You are welcome Shannon. There are several unknown benefits within WA that I feel many members do not realize, especially the newbies. Once I learn them I like to share what I know with the community to help broaden their knowledge. I hope it helps people.

Welcome to the world of certified members.

I do hope your tutorials will help a lot of people better understand how to give quality comments and also get to make money in the process.

And in my opinion, I don't think you can ever lose that Tittle of being an Ambassador, as your contributions to this Community even deserves something better than that if there be any.

Cheers..

Thanks Robert. Keep up the great training. Leaving better site comments is an issue for me. Last week I declined two comments I got due to overall poor quality reviews. I appreciate you're putting the effort in this area. All the best.

You are welcome Tim. I feel that too many people just starting out do not really know how or why leaving a quality comment is important.

I think some just comment to comment and say they did. It is important to read and understand what you are commenting on, otherwise it will look forced or fake.

Hi Rob

Congratulations on becoming certified! I did it as well. Thought about making a blog post about it but I skipped it; I often have seconds thoughts about that kind of thing, hence my ranking LOL.

Anyway, I won't say much more about it and I am looking forward to checking out what you come up with.

Thank you Dave and that was my point as far as being an Ambassador and not in the top 25. Those who used to be in the top 25 like Loes, Tony Hamilton, Marion, Steve, Jerry, Trish and so many others, will always be considered WA Ambassadors.
