Sunday's Entertainment Blog #18 - Googleability
What is Googleability? The definition according to Wikipedia is “Likelihood of being found by an internet search engine, especially Google’s.” When we use Google there is so much about Google that we do not know or we even take for granted.
Have you ever wondered how Google operates beyond just what SEO, Googlebots, and searchs in general do? However, what I am referring to today is the inner guts of where all of the information on Google, including everything that we create on our websites and on these Wealthy Affiliate blogs, resides in, passes through, and is stored. At the end of this blog you will get to view the rarely seen footage of one of the many Google Data Centers in the world.
But first some Google Comedy
Google Data Center – Lenoir, North Carolina
With about 12 Google Data Centers all over the world, sharing all of what we do here on Wealthy Affiliate and on our websites, is amazing in scope. It takes enormous amounts of energy, communications, and technologies to keep everything running and operating within a second of being initiated.
Though Google, rightfully so, is very secretive about their technology, they have granted access into one of their Data Centers here in the United States. It is definitely the biggest server farm that I have ever seen and it is only one of 12 world-wide.
I saw the Google Data center on the news a while back. I was amazed at what they gotta do to get us info.
It really is amazing, isn't it? The fact that we can get our search results within a second and all of the technology that goes into that process is astonishing!
I agree, and to know that Google started in a garage is amazing. Look at where they are today. It's amazing what we can accomplish if we put our minds to it.
Exactly! That is why I will never give up on my online dreams. It will take time but I will never give up or get tired of trying.

That is really amazing did not know they have one in the UK to.. in fact it is mind blowing just the sheer size of it all and how it all works
I know! I was amazed at how HUGE the server room was and how loud it was. Now I can understand why it all works so efficiently, because if one server should go down, there are 10's of thousands of more that can take up the slack.
Robert wow it's huge and if it is less than 8% of their data capacity, it is far more than a human comprehension. But ok it requires well space to store all of our blog posts
I was amazed at how big it was too Steen. And to think that is just one Data Center out of 12. It is amazing that all of it works within a couple of seconds of clicking the search button.
And its not somethink We ewen Think about. Here in Denmark there are only fem spot where i Cant Go online and get the info i need. And Google is for the Public. And many are able to use it at the same time. I sometime Think off How it look 20 years from now
