So Sad That The Blue Jays Didn't Win The WS
I so wanted the Toronto Blue Jays to win the 2025 World Series! As a New York Yankees Fan, I have no problems siding with all of my friends up in Canada and rooting for the Blue Jays to win the 2025 World Series.
But that didn't happen. Why would a NY Yankees fan want the Blue Jays, that beat the Yankees 3-1 in the Division Series to win? They are an American League Team. Yeah I know. A Canadian team part of the American League?
The other two reasons I wanted the Blue Jays to win were because the LA Dodgers won last year in 2024 against the Yankees. The third reason is Don Mattingly, the Blue Jays Bench Coach, would have received his first ring.
WHAT? NO WEALTHY AFFILIATE ADVERTISEMENT AT THE WORLD SERIES?
For those who don't know baseball, here is why I would've been happy Don Mattingly finally get his first World Series Ring. Don has been in the MLB since 1982 when he started with the NY Yankees as a first baseman.
The NY Yankees went to the World Series and won in 1977 and 1978 both times against the Dodgers. They didn't go back to the World Series until 1996, the year after Don Mattingly left the Yankees.
All throughout his MLB career as a player, as a manager and now as the Blue Jays Bench Coach, he finally made it into the World Series despite all of his accolades and awards. However, the Blue Jays lost and he didn't get his ring.
CONGRATULATIONS to the Los Angeles Dodgers and to the Dodgers Fans! Thank you to the Toronto Blue Jays for making it a great 2025 World Series. What are your thoughts on the World Series? Leave them below.

Good analogy. Now my “blue” thoughts switch over to the NFL where my favorite team, the NY Giants, have losing record and key star players out for the season with injuries.
I am a Jaguars fan in NFL and we have a decent start on our season but have had a history of coming up just short to shake off. this will be an interesting season.
Look at it this way, the Jaguars are not the worst team in the NFL like the N.O. Saints or the second worst team like my N.Y. Giants. Your Jags have a lot more hope going for them.
Still better than 2 and 7 after losing to the SF 49ers in our home stadium.
I gave up my season tickets years ago when the Giants moved into the current stadium.
I know when the other season tickets holders are less enthusiastic about going to the games because they start calling me to sell me their tickets. LOL
Way too many cognacs to process this loss. Will try again in the morning. Good Night
Michael
Cognacs? Oof! If that was me, I would need a week before trying to process that tough loss.
Yeah I am a Diamondbacks fan and the Dodgers are our division rivals I was so hoping they didn't use their deep pockets to grab another title.
My favorite team, the NY Yankees, have beaten the Dodgers more times in the World Series than they have lost to them. Though I like the Dodgers as with a few other teams after the Yankees, I didn’t want to see them repeat a World Series win.
I fully agree with you Myra and really feel sorry for the fans who have been waiting so so long since 1993, for their team to win the World Series.
I am the type of baseball fan that likes few different baseball teams. I am first and foremost, a NY Yankees fan, but I do also like the LA Dodgers and a few other teams. However, I wanted the Blue Jays to win this World Series and to do it in seven games. It was a GREAT series but also a tough loss. 🙁
Yes that was a tough loss. Why do you think they got robbed? Was it that close out at home plate?

What a heartfelt tribute to Don Mattingly! I'm not a huge baseball fan, but your storytelling here really drew me in. The way you weave together personal passion for the Yankees with empathy for Mattingly's journey is genuinely compelling.
It's fascinating how some people can be "so close yet so far" throughout their entire careers—Mattingly leaving the Yankees in '95, just a year before they won it all, and now finally getting to the World Series only to come up short again. That's got to be bittersweet.
I'm curious: do you think there are parallels between that kind of persistence in sports and what we're all doing here at WA? Like, showing up consistently even when the wins don't come right away? Would love to hear your thoughts on that connection.
Thank you. Yes, you could say there is a parallel between the story of Mattingly's journey and the journey of many other people, and not just here within WA.
All of us, no matter what we are doing to achieve success, will go on a journey of ups and downs, many times more downs than ups. You just have to keep going. Quitters never win.
