Remember the candy you ate as a kid growing up? Well you can still get that retro candy online and make money recommending it to others. That really could be a "sweet" way to earn money from the comfort of your home, or anywhere for that matter.

HOW DOES THAT WORK?

It's pretty simple. As a Free or Paid Member of Wealthy Affiliate you will take a few minutes to build and host your WordPress website using the Site Rubix website builder. Then do some keyword research like those listed below.

  • where can I buy retro candy - 96 Searches / 17 Traffic / 0 QSR / 94 SEO
  • the history of tootsie roll - 88 Searches / 15 Traffic / 10 QSR / 97 SEO
  • retro candy store - 171 Searches / 30 Traffic / 52 QSR / 94 SEO
  • candy from the 70s - 164 Searches / 28 Traffic / 67 QSR / 97 SEO
  • willy wonka chocolate candy - 72 Searches / 13 Traffic / 37 QSR / 99 SEO

Now you want to start writing content around the keywords that you researched. And yes, that first keyword I listed above has a QSR of 0. That is not a typo. That means this would be an awesome keyword to use because it has no competing websites currently using it.

If the content you write using that keyword is well written, you should find your post ranking on Google page one very quickly if not immediately. But seriously, it is still too early to worry about rankings when your website is not even a couple of weeks old.

So keep creating more and more pages and posts about your love of the different types of candy you ate as a kid, and perhaps still do. You could even write some interesting posts about the history of certain candy bars, Like how the Marathon Bar is now called Curly Wurly.

NOW COMES THE MONEY MAKING PART

After you have a sufficient amount of content written, a minimum of maybe 5 Pages and 7 Posts, you can then start researching Google for "Retro Candy Affiliate Programs" and select the one you wish to apply to. Remember, it is always free to become an affiliate.

Once you apply to be an affiliate of any particular candy website, do not stop writing new relevant content. The websites you are asking to be their affiliate will be looking through your website content to see if your site would be good for their free affiliate ads.

So keep doing your keyword research, writing your content, and sourcing your images. Maybe embed a few YouTube videos of retro candy commercials and look for other affiliate programs you may join just in case you get rejected from the one you applied to.

Once you are accepted to be an affiliate you will then have access to all kinds of image and text affiliate links for you to place within your content. You will also want to use your free spaces like the sidebar and footer areas of your website for Banner Ads.

Provide your website readers with an assortment of relevant information. If you enjoy talking about the fun times you had as a kid getting treated to your favorite candy, write about it. I am sure there will be other who can relate. Eating candy is something all of us have done.

When you can get your website readers excited and possibly relate to what you are sharing, they will want to make a purchase. Naturally they will click on your affiliate links, each having your unique ID number to make the purchase, and you get paid a commission.

ISN'T THAT A SWEET WAY TO EARN MONEY?

The reason I am sharing this information with you is to inform you of another possible niche for those having problems choosing one. I am sure the majority of you reading this had your favorites when it came to candy and chewing gum. One of my favorites is shown above.

Who remembers that bubble gum shaped like tiny gold nuggets and sold inside those little cotton bags with the drawstrings? I was doing some niche research, not on retro candy, but I came across the website below and noticed they have an affiliate program.

Old Time Candy Company - The Candy You Ate As A Kid

If you are interesred in creatiing a niche website about Retro Candy and you like the candy assortments provided at the company above, their Affiliate Program link is at the very bottom of their home page under "Quick Links." They pay a 3% to 12% commission.

What was your favorite candy as a kid? It doesn't matter what country you are from, share your childhood favorite with us in the comments below, along with any questions you may have with what I shared here. Though I liked many kinds my old favorite is below.

Good evening my brother, as always I love reading your words, by the way, my favorite candy bar has always been a Hershey bar only when I was a kid all candy bars were nickel. They were all twice the size of what they are now, oh my god did I tell my age, haha yes indeed I do understand everything that you have to say, and you are absolutely correct. May you have a beautiful outstanding week my friend.

Thank you and yes, the candy bars were twice the size when I was a kid too. I think the cheapest I remember them was 15 cents back in the late 1960s.

Sweet!

Pun Intended. LOL

Awesome article, thank you! I loved Chocolate Nibbles, Rhubarb and Custards, Sarsaparilla Drops and BonBons. I still love sweets, great idea!

Thank you and I think the majority of people can relate to eating some form of candy. Most of us have a sweet tooth. It's part of human nature and I think this would be a fun niche to get into.

Thank you for sharing much appreciated

This looks like a great niche to get into. Who would have thought it. lol

Have a great week

Jennifer

You are welcome Jennifer. I didn't think of this as a niche until I ran across a candy website earlier today. Then I was like, what a fun niche!

Thanks for sharing this! Loved candy as a kid. Still do have a sweet tooth!

Best wishes,
Karin 😎

It was my pleasure to stroll down "sweet" memory lane of childhood candy. :)

Chunky. It was a pyramid of chocolate and nuts. Heath bars were great and also Good n’ Plenty. Thanks for a constructive walk down memory lane.

I remember Chunky. I also liked Heath bars. I wasn't that big on Good n' Plenty because I wasn't a fan of licorice back then. But I think I remember a fruity Good n' Plenty or maybe it was Mike and Ike.

Ahhh... Thank you for a pleasant stroll down memory lane.

My pleasure C&P

Great info...Thanks!

You are welcome.

What a wonderful niche!
I used to love the multi-colored ribbon candy. It had different flavors in the same box and was only available around Christmas time.

That sounds vaguely familiar. I think I remember a candy like that. Personally most candies that were chocolate or caramel were my favorites. Still like that to this day. :)

Don’t get me wrong, I haven’t met a candy I DIDN’T like!
But chocolate and caramel were around all year, this one was was made to feel special because it was only around for a short time.

KyleAnn

Oh gosh remember that!

I can relate to that. My problem, or perk to my love of candy, was that my dad had his own business and it had to do with vending machines. So growing up I had direct access to all kinds of candy, cakes, soda pop, snacks, chips,... If my parents were not strict on what I ate I probably would have been as fat as an elephant. LOL

🤣🍫🍬🍭

I loved that one too. Never was sure how to eat it without getting everything sticky!

How did you know i have a large sweet tooth LOL

I think the majority of us do. LOL

Awesome infomine was the chocolate coins in the same rype bags and salt water taffy

YES! I remember the chocolate coins in the bag. If I remember correctly they were individually wrapped in gold foil to resemble gold coins.

YES

Oh to be a kid again. :)
