What does that picture above remind you of. The love of my life, in her always playful and sometimes sarcastic humor, posed for this picture to copy me. Though she looks much better than I do, it is a look, a pose, that has personified the one called Boomergp08.

WHAT DOES CHRISTMAS MEAN?

Back when I was little and even when I was in my 20s and 30s, Christmas was a time of spending money on gifts, wrapping paper, ribbons and bows all over the house on Christmas Eve, and getting ready for the big day only hours away.

This was a time when there were still little ones in our family, nieces and nephews, that were still into getting gifts. However, the majority of us grown-ups were more into the coming together of the family. Now that everyone is a grown up we have changed things up.

Christmas for us is not about buying gifts for each other. It is all about family getting together from all over the U.S. and going on a family vacation to a warm weather location. We have been to Disney World in Florida, Las Vegas, the Caribbean, as long as we are together.

Getting together as a family is the best gift there is. Christmas is too commercialized. When you think about it, that is what it is really all about right now. Some may say it is about Jesus, but Christmas isn't even an important Christian holiday. It's not even Jesus' real birthday.

As an affiliate marketer I am not complaining about capitalism during this holiday season, but Christmas should mean more about the coming together of family and sharing memories plus making new ones. Save your money. Christmas doesn't have to be about gift giving.

WHAT AM I DOING?

Seeing how my family celebrated our Christmas already back in September at my niece's wedding in Minnesota, this year we are all celebrating separately. My girlfriend and I are going to play a unique form of the game Twister. It involves money, beer and tequila shots.

As a hold-over from my days in the video game design industry, I still have the knack of coming up with unique yet fun party games based off of existing ones. Have you ever played the dice game LCR (Left Center Right)? I changed that by adding a money element too.

I can get pretty creative sometimes. Fortunately that has translated well over to here at WA in my ability to come up with dozens of narrowed down niches to help all of you who may be searching for one. This creativity has also made me the better cook in my relationship.

However Adriana my girlfriend has insisted on cooking dinner tonight and I must wrap up this post to you all because she has just announced from the kitchen that dinner is ready. About time! I am hungry. I normally do not eat this late in the evening but she's in charge tonight.

We will be washing down our food with my favorite Christmas craft beer from Harpoon Brewery called Winter Warmer. It is an Amber Ale with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. After all we must follow the guidance of that famous Christmas song...
