Find a Niche from the Total Solar Eclipse 2017
As I often do, I like to take something popular and see if there is an affiliate program associated with it. This post will show you how to find a niche from the Total Solar Eclipse 2017 event.
THERE IS A SOLAR ECLIPSE AFFILIATE PROGRAM?
Well not exactly, but there are niche related affiliate programs available when you start to break down a niche. Sometimes you can take a natural phenomena and find products used to monitor these that will have affiliate programs.
Natural phenomenas is a niche market that many people are into, some passionately and some in passing. For example, the total Solar Eclipse of 2017 that is to happen August 21, 2017, will have avid star gazers and many curiosity watchers wanting to spend money to witness this event.
Just imagine the type of money you could make if you had an affiliate marketing website, like the ones you can easily build here at Wealthy Affiliate, that promoted products that would help people witness this event.
LOOK WHAT I FOUND ON GOOGLE
Just for the heck of it I went on to Google and typed the following Solar Eclipse Affiliate Program and then I clicked search. Though I wasn't expecting to actually find an affiliate program having to do with the eclipse itself, I did find a popular niche.
Yes, Telescopes and related products. Though a majority of the novice star gazers will be wanting to buy special sunglasses for looking up into the sun, many others will want to use a telescope, obviously with a special filter lens for protection.
Another niche that can be tapped into to make money with that others will use for viewing and capturing the eclipse are the camera and binocular niche markets. And though the eclipse is a one hour event, these products can be used year round for other natural phenomena.
Just look at the cost for some of these quality Orion Telescopes in the above image. This is just one company out of many that has an affiliate program in this niche. They will pay up to 7% commission on the total cost of any sales that come through your affiliate link.
That means if you were to have someone buy the $499.00 telescope alone, you could make up to $34.93 on just that one sale. And like I said, these products will be sought after by both avid star gazers and curiosity watchers.
OTHER USES FOR THIS NICHE MARKET
Obviously you would not make your entire affiliate marketing website based solely on an event that happens once every two or more years, but there are other associated events that can be tied into it that would require the use of a telescope. In addition to a solar eclipse, here are some other events.

- Super Moon
- Blood Moon
- Planetary Sitings
- Combination Planetary Events
- Meteor Shower
- Comets
- Asteroid Passings
- Auroras
- Rainbows
