When you join Wealthy Affiliate (WA), your mind is probably filled with a combination of excitement and fear of the unknown. Something like; I can't wait to start earning money in affiliate marketing and quitting my regular job, but what niche should I pick and what is a niche exactly?

A NICHE IS ANYTHING A GROUP OF PEOPLE SHARE AN INTEREST IN

Anything? That seems a bit overwhelming. There are so many things people are interested in. Is that even possible? The short answer is YES! Before I continue I want to make clear, I have an abundance of niche ideas that many people tend to overlook and I share them here.

Yes WA has a niche finder and yes that is a great tool, but there's nothing wrong with coming up with a niche without using that awesome tool. When I joined and Kyle explained what a niche was, I immediately had a firm grasp on the definition and my brain went into overdrive.

Seeing how I used to develop video games for Nintendo, I have always had an outside of the box kind of imagination. Even with AI, I could never create that many niche websites, so I share these creative niche ideas with all of you to spark your imaginations...hopefully.

Now in regards to the title of this post, did you know that these people are actually niches? Wait a minute! A person can be an actual niche? Yes, if the person or group of people are famous enough to have a fan base. A niche doesn't have to be a physical product. It could be a person. Let me explain.

HERE ARE SOME PEOPLE WHO ARE NICHES

  • Ichiro Suzuki
  • Elvis Presley
  • Mahatma Gandhi
  • Jesus Christ
  • Michael Jordan
  • Tom Hanks
  • Aaron Judge
  • Taylor Swift (Engaged to Travis Kelce)

ALL of these people have products associated with them that people who are fans, would want to know about and even collect and/or buy. Each one has something about them that would make it easier to target as a narrow more focused niche. I'll use Ichiro Suzuki as an example.

Ichiro Suzuki is a popular Japanese baseball player. Though there are many Japanese born baseball players in the MLB, Ichiro was the first ever position player who joined the Major League in 2001. Now in 2025 he became the first Japanese baseball player to enter the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

That is an amazing milestone in any baseball player's career, but even more so for Ichiro because he was born and raised in Japan. There are so many amazing statistics surrounding him that baseball fans would want to know. Now you might be wondering, what Ichiro Suzuki products could you promote?

ICHIRO SUZUKI PRODUCTS TO PROMOTE

All of the above listed famous people have multiple items associated with them and their careers that one can promote. Remember, your narrow niche is a person and not a specific product(s), which means you can promote multiple items. Let me explain continuing with Ichiro Suzuki as an example.

  • Ichiro Books
  • Jerseys from the Mariners, the Marlins & the Yankees
  • Autographs (Baseballs, Bats, Jerseys, Helmets,...)
  • Framed Photos
  • Fielding Techniques
  • Batting Style Guides
  • Hall of Fame Memorabilia

All of these products are available on Amazon. They are also available on the Fanatics, the MLB Store and the Steiner Sports websites. All three have affiliate programs and in most cases have a higher commission payout and longer cookie duration than Amazon. A lot of options available.

A NARROW NICHE WITH MULTIPLE ASSOCIATED PRODUCTS

When you choose a specific person as your niche, it's fairly narrow from the start, yet it gives you the opportunity to promote a lot of different products. Here's another example. The actor Tom Hanks. Think of all the different movies he has started in; Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, You've Got Mail,...

You can come up with multiple products from just those three movies that are solely related to the actor Tom Hanks. Again, your niche is already narrow as it's about Tom Hanks. However, Tom has so many products related solely to him that it gives you many options of products to promote from.

Look at Jesus Christ as your niche. Naturally one would think of promoting Christian products like Bibles, clothing, artwork, calendars, books, jewelry, music,... But seeing how Jesus was Jewish you can also combine products associated with Judaism. There are several Judeo-Christian affiliate programs.

If you have a great amount of knowledge about a famous person, you can make that person a niche and promote a wide variety of associated products or even go more narrow and focus on only one. The choices are almost endless when your niche is focused on a specific individual instead of a product.

Don't overlook the possibility of selecting a niche that is associated with a famous person or even a specific sports team. Practically anyone popular will have multiple sub niches you can choose from, should you want to make your person niche even more narrow. What do you think? Leave your comments below.

Oooh...!
You are guessing it right, am to make Christian and the Bible my niche.
I can't forget in 2010, by then I was in form 3 at primary level at the age of 11.
I wanted to copy and write my own BIBLE , I started with Matthew. Unfortunately I couldn't even finish it.
Seems crazy but I really can't forget that moment.

Christianity and the Bible is a popular niche and never goes out of style. There are so many things you can talk about and share. The only thing you absolutely cannot change is the true message of the scriptures and Jesus Christ. Those you must keep the same as it is written.

1

Yes, Scriptures remain unchanged unless when am explaining more about them.

Thank you for sharing,

When You talk about thinking out of the box you were not kidding, I would never myself have thought about using a famous person as a niche. Even though it is a great idea to consider, what first came to my mind was would I get into trouble legally writing about a famous person to sell products.

LOL...Yeah, my imagination can get pretty outside the box at times. I think it's one of the reasons I stayed in the video game industry for 25 years.

It was my pleasure to share this with the community. Even though I don't have the time to do any of these niches now, I see no reason for letting these ideas go to waste.

Plus I like sparking other people's imaginations with fresh and different ideas, because everyone is a fan of someone, an actor, musician, athlete, race car driver,...

There would be no legal trouble because you are not selling anything that isn't already being sold online at Amazon and other affiliate programs. You are just promoting the products.

You’d have to be very careful indeed. With posting pictures too…

When choosing pictures of anyone famous it is always best and safe to use images from Wikimedia Commons. All can be used, some with and some without attribution. The licensing agreement will state which is current for each image.

Thank you for sharing Boomer

I love your out of the box imagination for niches, you can help many new members struggling to find that perfect niche

Hey Rob,

This is a great post and I like the angle you are taking.

A lot of beginners think a niche has to be something like “gardening tools” or “home fitness,” but what you are showing is that niches can often times come from identity and connection. Fans of Ichiro or Taylor Swift are not just “buying stuff,” they are part of a community, and community is where a niche really takes shape.

The bigger point here is that successful niches are rarely about “things,” they are about why people care. A jersey is not just clothing, it is belonging. A Tom Hanks DVD is nostalgia and connection to stories that shaped someone’s life. When you build content in a niche, if you lean into the reason people are passionate, you end up creating something much more powerful than simply a product-driven site...with the only goal of trying to sell people.

Another thought here too. Niches tied to people evolve. Someone like Elvis has an evergreen fan base that grows and contracts with time, while someone like Aaron Judge is still actively building his legacy. One might require a strategy based on collectibles and nostalgia, the other on “current season” relevance and real-time engagement...news, etc. This can impact how you would approach these "people niches" in this case.

Thought provoking post here, thanks for sharing.

1

Thanks Kyle! Your last part is what I was mainly thinking about, where some fan base is evergreen like with Elvis and others like with Aaron Judge are growing and evolving. It's definitely food for thought, which is why I posted this blog.

Thanks Robert and as you said think outside the box especially with niche ideas like celebrities you already mentioned.

Plus for some living in other countries they can also look at the own celebrity and work on that as well. but obviously for a great outlook worldwide people can give a bigger opportunity as well

3

You are welcome Andre. This outside the box concept can work in any country with any kind of popular person whether they are a regional celebrity, a popular football (soccer) player, and even Jesus Christ.

A vibrant active and growing fan base is all one needs to become a niche. For instance, here in America Charlie Kirk was popular mainly here in the U.S., but now after his assassination his fan base has gone worldwide.

1

Thanks Robert and yes the outside the box can be used in many ways but as you mentioned in the last paragraph one needs to make sure it will carry through that is why people like Elvis etc are still worthwhile.
Personally I wouldn't focus on politics as that can change in a minute as you mentioned

Enjoy your day and week ahead.

Andre

Thank you Andre. Enjoy your week as well and all the best with your Boot Camp course tasks that Kyle has set for us.

Thanks Robert wishing you continued success as well.

1

Cringe Factor 22.5 Taylor Swift, cannot stand that lady.

2

Not a fan either but she does attract a lot of attention which can turn into money for those who like her.

1

To each their own once again I guess.
