In the process of adding Google Analytics to my new website, I copied/pasted the URL and noticed that the URL isn't secure?
I thought all websites hosted at WA are secure
You need to activate the SSL on each site. Under Websites/Site Manager/Details check there for each of your sites and make sure SSL is turned on.
Hope that helps.
Did you turn it on? Click on websites on the left. Then where you see your website listed, click on View Details. Scroll down until you see SiteSSL and make sure it is turned on.
Why is my website url http: and not https:?

Jean, you need to make the change yourself. Here is a link to a training. How to Change from HTTP to HTTPS for WA Hosted Websites (Note: Although it may not concern you, this does now apply to Sitebix since recent update.)

In regards to Privacy Policy and Disclaimer pages, I know that "No Index" and "No Follow" should be checked, but not sure whether "Disable On This Page" should be checked or no

Should "disable on this page" be checked also?

How do you set it up so that search engines only track other people who visit your website and doesn't track every time you yourself (the website creator) visits your site? (I
Jean, I'm just observing on this one.
judebanks answers are spot on. She must have been experiencing exactly what you are going through.
This is why I love WA community so much:

Great. So should one add Google Analytics to website BEFORE doing what's needed to exclude IP address?
Yes, to exclude internal traffic via your IP, you need to set up the tracking code used by Google to identify your traffic. Then you can apply the filter to exclude your IP address from those stats.
Kyle's training on how to add GA to your site using the All in One SEO plugin: How to Install Google Analytics Using the All in One SEO Plugin ~Jude
Hi Jude, So I've set up Google Analytics and am now working on excluding internal traffic via IP.
The first step is finding out my IP address, so I typed "What is my IP" in Google.
However, I'm perplexed about how long my IP address is compared to the one shown in Jay's video. The one in video is only 8 digits with numbers separated by periods, but the IP address that turned up for me is 31 digits and includes letters and separated by colons.
This makes me question or want to verify whether my IP is correct? Did they change the IP formula recently perhaps to a longer equation?
There are 2 IP stacks. One is IPv6 (the long one) and IPv4 (the short one).
Check it here and use the IPv4 digits if you prefer shorter. Either one is fine to use.

In your Analytics you can set which ip addresses to not record so you can put down your home internet ip and any ip address of any devices you use.
Usually there is someplace in settings to block your IP address from being tracked.
You can find out your IP address by going to a browser and type in "What's My IP".
Hope this helps,
- Glen B

Just preparing before launching actual website.
In considering using the Placid WordPress theme.
I'm wondering if
As Marion says. You can also check it here:
http://responsivedesignchecker.com/
I checked it on my Samsung 9+ which is a 6.2" screen and it looks good - the same as shown on the above site.
You should check it again when you have added some images.
From the left column on the site, select the various types and sizes of devices so you can see how they will look. That site enables you to scroll through the content in the same way as on your computer.
~Jude
You don't need a mobile device to see how a website looks on a small screen. Just reduce the size of your browser by dragging on the side when the cursor turns into a double-arrow. Or go to Appearance > Customize and click one of the icons at the bottom of the page.
Interesting new piece of knowledge.
Yes, I see in Customize, at the bottom, there's icons that when you click on them changes the view from regular computer view to mobile device view. (The theme/logo appears fine.)

Are the images in Site Content that one can download directly from Site Content pre-optimized?
And if one wants to add images outside of Site Content in addition to image
I know it is always a good idea to have the EWW plugin turned on and activated for all photos. Photos can really slow down site speed if not optimized properly.
I think I remember that site content photos are optimized. But my memory can be fuzzy. Let's see what other say.
