Mediavine doubled requirements to 50k
Okay friends, this is sad news especially for those that have been eyeing that magical 25K session to quality for Mediavine.
Mediavine doubled their requirements today to 50K sessions effective immediately and basically got rid of the lower requirement for a second site. If you already applied, you are still good for 25K . If you are already in on 25K, you are still good to continue as normal.
If you were close to Mediavine and waiting to hit it to monetize or shift from Google Adsense, I would suggest looking into Monumetric or Ezoic (I’ve heard Ezoic slows some sites down). This especially hurts for anyone who was right on the edge - I’m so sorry that this happened like this.
The good news is you are here at Wealthy Affiliate and you are learning everything that will make you successful so you don't have to wait on media networks to monetise your blog and website.
To everyone disappointed including me, I will say focus on the training and make the best of the opportunity we have here. The knowledge here surpasses any out there.

Yes, it’s sad but we have an opportunity here at Wealthy Affiliate and I think it is a good time to connect people looking for alternatives to Wealthy Affiliate.
Honestly, even though I love the people at Mediavine, when I see their "optimization" recommendations, I feel like it makes a site almost unreadable because there are so many banner ads showing. Makes me crazy!
Yes, WA members, you can still make plenty of bucks without an ad network, especially if you have that many monthly visitors!
I absolutely agree with you. The banners can get annoying but it provided a monthly income to people. During this pandemic, I have seen my friends CPM drop from £20 to £2. Many of my blogger friends are distraught tonight but we have hope here.
Yeah, I'm not surprised about that drop. Hopefully your friends can pivot to other sources, like affiliate marketing, which has actually done quite well in many verticals through these crazy times.
