Hey, guys

So my question is, how do/did you guys deal with frustration when you aren't seeing results as quickly as you would like with your online business. I know you b

Taking each day as it comes, one step at a time:) I get too excited and want to start seeing immediate results and when I don't, frustration follows.
But what's sorted my attitude out is a massive sign above my workspace saying 'slow and steady does the job'. It helps me create a good quality website and encourages me to enjoy every minute of website building.

Hope you find your way of coping:D

A forward leaning get the next step done approach will melt frustration away!

Yup, I know the feeling. Here are some things you can do:

1) Create a vision board and put it where you will always see it
2) Write down how much you've learned
3) Write down non-monetary goals and gains that you've made
4) Take a week break and come back with a fresh mind. Sometimes you just need to step away for a minute. Don't make it too long...a week is good

Hope this helps :)
Marlinda

Great ideas, thank you Marlinda!

You're welcome :)

lol, awesome! Yeah, it really helps. Sometimes we get swept away by life and our goals sort of get thrown under the bus and you forget what you're working towards and why. But if you always have them there where you can see them then they're harder to miss and your reinforced with why you're doing what you're doing. That way you're more motivated to keep going. :)

When you are on your own browser it's stored in your cache and will come up on the list. Even when you clear your browser cache it's there.

Start checking everything you do in Incognito mode, it's like you are checking in a different browser and not your own. Just like you see this on a different device.

This happens all the time, as it happened to me months ago shortly after I joined. I'll leave you the link for more information.

Hi, Patsy

That's not cool Google tricking us. I'm just glad you told me about it because I was about to write a blog post here telling people about it!

Oh well, I'll get there eventually! :)

I spared you!

I wrote one out then a while later a 2nd one!

I deleted both because everyone was congratulating me for nothing.

Check in Incognito mode for everything having to do with your website.

I will definitely check everything in incognito from now on.
Thanks Patsy! :)

You are welcome :D

[speculation]
I'm thinking that a few different things could be going on.

1) Your personal search history can affect the results that google shows you. If you've searched for some related terms before and visited your site as a result, google will tend to keep showing you your own site in its results. To keep this from happening, you should do your searches in a private (or incognito) browser window. Unless you've previously used that different device you refer to, your search history wouldn't be stored on that device.

2) If you're logged in to google+, items that you've shared there are probably being "biased up" in the search results. Logging out of google+ may or may not help if this is the case.

3) Searching for the exact title of a post isn't the kind of searching that a typical visitor would be doing. While you know the title of your post, anyone else searching for your content wouldn't. They would be searching for keywords related to your content.

Hi, Bob

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking the same about logging out of Google but it looks like incognito does the same.

I was searching the title because the title is the keywords I was using. Unless I'm not understanding how keywords work.

I've only published 5 posts so far and none are indexed. How long is an average amount of time to get indexed?

Hey Brian,

Why not offer a FREE ebook where your site visitor only has to offer up their email address.

You could make the ebook about, let's say, "Beginner's Guide to Online Marketing" in which you could then offer your affiliate links to some of the BEST tutorials right here at WA.

That way, you're not as apt to be breaking any rules, though I'm not sure if there is one for your idea.

If you are adamant about doing this, then I would highly recommend you contact Kyle and ask him if it would be allowed.

Hope this helps you.

Hey, Trish

That's a great idea, I'll look into that. Thanks! :)

Hey, everyone

How often should I be posting to my site? In lesson 10 of Phase 1, Kyle outlines what to expect at different points in your business and at 6 months he says

Regardless... focus on quality, not quantity.

If you can get to 60 or so posts in the first 3-4 months then slow it down to about 2-3 times a week. should be enough.

The more posts you have the more traffic. Just that simple, but put something out there worth reading.

I have to write when I'm inspired. I am a newbie so as of now there is no traffic to my site. This makes me feel as if I have more time to really tweak what's there and get comfortable. I am on level two lesson five and only have two posts. Once I get the foundation set I'm sure I'll be good for a couple of posts per week. I imagine over time your traffic and audience will determine how much you post. Good luck:-)

They say 2-3 posts a week at a minimum. I have so far tried to post once a day, but that went down from 7 times a week to 5 times a week. Now it will be between 3 to 5 posts a week, so that I can concentrate on engagement of my content a bit more.

Quantity isn't that important, but regularity is and so is quality and engagement with your audience.

Steven

From what i know 2 or 3 posts a week but, to be honest it really all depends on the time you have during the week. I know me for instance I am gone from the house from 33am-530pm get home. play with the dog for an hour to two hours. Eat shower all that it only leaves me a little bit of time to do anything with my site. So I work on it really during my weekends I can, get about 1-2 posts to my site in that time.

The usual price for yearly membership is $349 but does it ever go on sale? I had read somewhere that there is a Black Friday sale where the price drops to $299 for the year.

I don't know but I am hoping so as I should be upgrading to yearly. It is just such a large upfront sum that I can't really afford just yet.

Karen

There is a Black Friday to Cyber Monday Sale that starts the Friday after Thanksgiving in November. The yearly membership is $60.00 less, coming out to $299.00 per year.

Indeed there is a Black Friday next month.
This is just one of many that explains it. If you type in Black Friday into your search box at the top of your WA screen and NOT your browser you will see quite a few explanations.

Nice! Thank you so much Robert!
