How Much Should I Get Paid? - Need Your Suggesstions

So I am currently helping out a friend out driving traffic to his site. I am currently doing a test run. The thing is I am using my own money doing this. Its dealing with paid traffic so its something that Im going to constanly tweak and moniter and plus its taking up my time. My question is how much should I get paid? I don't know if I should offer per month or per hour?
I have an idea of how much but I just want the communities suggestions and feedback. Thanks.

PPC managers charge anywhere from 10% to 25% of the ad spend
But Im pretty sure this is per month or is it a flat fee?

If your friend is spending $1000 per month on ads, and your fee is 25% - you would be charging $250 per month.
