Bullets and Lists! OH MY!

Last Update: June 08, 2016

I've seen this question a bunch lately...

"How do I add a space between my numbered or bulleted list"

This answer seems elusive and I'll tell you why. It can be a bunch of BS and make your head hurt!

One way to do it is to add HTML code in your style sheet... which quite frankly is a pain in the arse. And... you could unknowingly change the code in your theme without realizing it. (Yep. Been there done that). It was bad. Real bad.

But, after much trial and more error I came up with an answer - that works for me. It has slightly more space than I want, but at this juncture - I don't really care. :)

It's really useful when you have a bullet or number list AND graphics. (I just LOVE making things harder on myself).

Go to TEXT editor...

After each paragraph in your bullet point or number - hit return - then paste this: &nbsp

That's it. Voila!

What does   mean?

The   character is called a no-break space and it's a character entity.

AKA - It keeps your elements together but adds a space.

Like I said - it's more space than I'd like... but I like it a whole lot better than my bullets scrunching up against each other.

Here's how it ended up looking:

Hope this helps!

Make it a great day! :)

Sheila.

The problem I have with bulleted list is that they're rigidly formatted. And if you want to delete a bullet point, you can't. Only the text next to it. So, if I want a more controllable bullet list (on a Mac)...
I hold down the option key and the number 8. That gives you a bullet symbol like this:

And you can move it
• anywhere you want
• indent it if you like
Or just leave it off altogether
:-)

Option-8
• That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

TO FUNNY!!! I also just write in WORD and copy paste. That works great... unless you need to change something. Then it's copy/paste AGAIN.

You crack me up!

Agree, working "hard" is not all it is praised to be. And with the fun you seem to be having, it may not even be "work" at all.
