Some Rankings At Last!!!
So at last I am seeing most of my posts ranking! You cannot believe the boost it's given me. I mean, you can all identify with the feeling, can't you?
I have been here now for three months. I have learnt an enormous amount in that time, and although I'm not earning any money with my site yet, at least visitors will start popping their heads into my kitchen now that I'm becoming visible!
So of my eleven posts so far: three are either not ranked, or further down the line after page 7, 3 posts are # 1 on page1, 1 post is #8 on page 1, 1 post is #2 on page 1, 2 posts are rating #30 overall on page 3, and the last post is ranking #11 on page 2.
None of my menu titles are ranking though. How can I get my recipes to rank, as they are under general headings and don't have individual URL'S?

Hi Lydia. Congrats on yoiur rankings. I looked at your site and have some suggestions that will help the overall design. When you center your headings and captions, don't accept how the system lays out the text, but put a break in the top line so that both lines are about the same length -- i.e. in your first header, hit
One last thing . . . in the caption under the old lady at the stove . . . "Grandma's" should be "Grandmas." The first spelling is a possessive, as in something belonging to Grandma. The second is the plural. It's a common mistake but looks better if you don't make it.
Thanks for pointing that out to me Harvey! Will correct it. I'm having huge problems with how WP lays out the text and wraps text around the images.
I would like more space between text and images, but I just don't know how to do it. Can you help me out on that one?

You will have a lot of competition there from big companies like taste.com etc so don't be too hard on yourself.
I have no doubt about that! At the moment I really am concentrating on writing quality content for my posts though.
What is an H2 heading, Brian, and how do I do it? I have already searched for low competition titles and used them. Lydia.
When your in your editing page at the top on the left there is a dropdown menu labled paragraph open it up this is where you can ad H tags to your content.
You first have to highlight the heading text then select the H tag you want. the h1 tag is for if you use the tittle in your content as a heading H2 H3 H4 tell the crawlers that these subheadings have importance and can be used like keywords so you should do keyword research for all your h headings

Nice you at last got traffic, the best way to Watch your rank in google is to use a program with Google crome a program called SEO Serp https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/seo-serp/ofoaoaloeipdofknnaapbmdddddioklg
put this into crome.

you have to downloaded it with Crome and this is the real one to use, if you shall use Another tool here you have to unlogg google plus if it´s what you mean Basse ? :)
Anyway, SEO Serp is the name of the tool and you must use google crome to downloaded it there
I use it in Chrome as a plugin. But it's not accessible in incognito mode. I guess you have to log out from G+ to use it then? I've been fooled by Google's personalized search result to many time already ;-)
