First month at WA

My first month

On Wenesday the 6th I will be celebrating one month here at WA.And what a month it's been. When I started I was a total ignoramus concerning anything regarding internet marketing.I followed the training step by step, got to understand the terminology which at the beginning was Greek to me.Slowly things started making sense.

And when the real fun part started with learning to build my own website, I was ecstatic! I got the basics done & was told it looked good but I need more content etc. Then I encountered a major problem,I couldn't fall asleep at night as so many thoughts and ideas were running through my head.I was driving my husband crazy, bouncing ideas off him and keeping him awake too!

Premium

On Tuesday the 5th,I'm 2 weeks into Premium, so there are two celebrations coming up!Since I upgraded, I have changed my theme and learned more about websites than I ever thought possible. It sure has my sons looking at me with more respect,I can now talk about 'affiliate marketing' and 'wordpress' with just a little authority, something they're not aquainted with at all.So that makes me feel a bit better.

I'm looking so forward to the rest of this journey.Thank you to all that have helped me out and answered questions. To Kyle and Carson, thank you again. There's a saying in Zulu here in South Africa that says' SIYAYA' meaning 'we're going there! You see it on the back of every minibus taxi, you don't know where, but it's there.

Here at WA we are also going there, for each one the destination may be close or far, but we'll reach it.

Chat again soon,

Lydia.

Thanks Jorge,it's all you out there that keep me going!

Aw good to know :)

Congratz! I just celebrated my first month on the 2nd as well. It appears that we are both very glad to be here!

Thanks, you're right, wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Awesome! I love your attitude and look forward to seeing your success over the next month as well.!

Thanks so much, secretly hoping that I'll be earning just a little bit by then, would be a real Christmas bonus.

Happy first month! It sounds like you're doing amazingly well. Keep it up. :)

Thanks Christina, moving along slowly but surely.Check out my website & tell me what you think so far,I think my post should be my 'about' page & the 'history' page my post,am I a bit muddled here.kitchen-blessings.com. Thanks Lydia.

Your site is coming along very nicely! I am getting hungry looking at those jars of yummy things. :) Great job!

Thanks for the feedback! The recipes are on their way.BIS suggested that I put captions to my images, how do I do that? And that I remove the dancing bottle of chutney...

I don't see the dancing chutney. Did you remove him already? As for the captions... when you add an image to your post, there are options to add a link, or to add a caption. It's just a box that says "Caption" and then you type whatever you want in there.

Thanks for that. Yes, I did remove it, I quite liked it, was a bit quirky right at the end of the back to basics page, but maybe it's just not right.

I bet he'll find a nice spot somewhere on your site. :)

Hi Lydia - I think what you can find out here, and learn is truly remarkable. I've built web sites (not many), and web applications for employers for years - and am still learning with every bit of new technology that comes out. What you realise when you join WA is, you don't need to know how to program.

To me, WA is the IKEA of on-line marketing. You just need to have faith, follow the instructions, and you'll have a website and a business (or an awesome looking wardrobe from IKEA) that you didn't really think you had the knowledge to build!

I would love my sons to look up to what I've achieved (or at least appreciate it) one day too - great story and post!

All the best, Mark

You are so right,Mark & believe me,your sons will follow your example one day.My sons are grown now & they used to always try & get me to become more computer & internet savvy & I was just not interested. Now,they can't believe that I've actually come out the closet so to speak!
Good luck with raising your sons, not all kids today have dads that care about what they'll think about them.
Regards,
Lydia.

It is wonderful that you are making progress. Keep up the good work.

If you want to have some fun, spend a bit of time journalling your early experiences and then a year down the road, look back to see how far you have come.

Thank you & oh, I'm doing just that, got a book next to my laptop that has to 'listen' to all that I get up to at WA!
PS. I enjoy your blogs, keep writing!

These are the small victories that keep us going forward. Way to go!

Thanks Steve, the're like little sweet treats, aren't they.

Well done Lydia. Mine will be a month on 17th. Know what you mean about sleeping. I've even got up in the night and spent a couple oh hours on the computer. Working on WA of course.

Thanks Tessa & good luck to you! Those couple of hours just fly by, don't they.

Good going, Sylvia. I am 3 weeks in. Encounter some problems with images. However, the support here is great and I know I will get some help.

Thank you so much,I also had image related problems.Have you seen the video by Leo,he makes it so simple.I'm just not sure how to find it now. Will check it out & get back to you.
