Your affiliate links are the least of your problems. You have specifically stated in your review that this product cures cancer. That is a shocking statement to make and you don't even have a medical disclaimer stating you are not medically qualified, and advising customers to consult their doctor. You could be taken to court.

Plus, 42 % of your article is copy and pasted from the manufacturer. You can't do this.

Ok, thank you for alerting me. Gong to fix but this is what the company claims and I believe them.

Chris

How would I go about writing such a technical article without stating what the company says and using their information?

Should I not give any info and just leave my personal experience as a testament to the product?

Chris

Hi - that is what people would be more interested in. They can read a product description from the manufacturer's website anytime, but what they want to see is a review from somebody who can actually recommend the product from experience. That is what will make your site unique.

I am a bit puzzled as to what else you are going to do with this site. Google likes to see fresh, regular content, two or three posts per week before it will place you high in its rankings. Once you have written your review, what else are you going to say?

Don't forget to remove the price of the product from your review as mentioned previously. Amazon's rules have changed since Kyle made his video. Plus, you don't have an Affiliate Disclosure policy which is mandatory. Are you aware you have to make 3 sales in the first 180 days or Amazon will remove you from its program.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I am strongly considering quitting. Not sure that this is a good fit because I don't think I can continue to try and write something on my own.

Chris

What about your other site? I had a look and you seem much more comfortable writing about gardening.

I just feel so out of sorts with all of it. I'm not a writer by nature so I'm really out of my comfort zone.

I've experienced all the things that I write about. I didn't say it on the water machine but my sister had stage 4 brain cancer and once she started drinking the water, with chemo and radiation, they can't find any of it remaining. It's been over two years now and still gone. I just didn't want to put her info on the site so I just spoke about me. I have MS and have been doing great since drinking the water.

Anyway, gardening I also love. It's been a hobby for several years. I'm just not sure. But I do thank you for the advice. I'm going to give it strong consideration whether to continue.

Thanks again for all your support and advice.

Chris

It took me to Amazon which is what it's supposed to do.

Piece of advice, though. It's against Amazon Affiliate policies to state a definitive price for a product because their prices fluctuate multiple times a day. If you're still in the trial membership phase, you will get disapproved and your account deleted, causing you to reapply. It's almost impossible to get them to reopen an account that wasn't approved yet.

If you've already been approved, this can cause your account to be closed. You'd have to correct all Policy violations, then ask your account to be reopened, which is possible after they review your site.

Ok, thank you. Not sure what to do now.

I followed Kyle's example from his reviews, so how else should I give the information on the review?

Just don't list price. Kyle I believe has a line saying:

Best Price to Buy: Amazon (with the link being used there)

Ok thank you. I don't think this is for me anymore. I'm very discouraged and don't think I will be able to continue.
Chris

Like everything, it's a learning process and does take work and time to achieve results. I was experimenting with things and in March, so far, I made $26. Sure, I can't retire off that and it was Facebook not my site, and just to keep my Amazon affiliate account open, but it proves it's possible.

You definitely do have to be careful as Diane pointed out. You can't make crazy claims or copy stuff from the sites, but if you work at it and only promote products you believe in, it can be very successful.

Personally, I think your gardening site has more potential. One, you have nothing left to write about after this was distillery thing.

Two, honestly, I wasn't going to say anything about it, even if you believe John Ellis, what he claims isn't true. I researched the product. He claims all sorts of crazy things with absolutely no proof posted except official looking stuff that doesn't actually prove anything. If his machine, which only creates distilled water as his patent supposedly states, cured cancer, it would be on the news. If you believe him, okay, great, but I read his claims and they aren't very credible.

The reason I am saying this is if you continually support products that are kind of sketchy or unproven, it isn't a great way to keep a sustainable, long lasting business. As Diane mentioned, you can't claim something like that without proof or disclaimers that this is entertainment only and you're not a medical doctor.

Now, if you yourself purchased the machine and it cured your cancer, you could definitely write about that. But people only buy from people who they trust and you're just repeating what the website says.

You will want to write about what you're passionate about, not what you think will make money. This is why I said your gardening site has more potential. If you garden, you can write an entire post on every plant or soil or fertilizer you personally use and I guarantee anything you buy for your garden can be found on Amazon. Plus readers will be able to tell you're passionate about gardening.

Don't give up, just shift your focus. If you focus on the money first, that doesn't work. It takes time and effort. If you are writing about your passions, like gardening, it becomes fun work.

Last piece of advice, focus on one website at a time until you're passed the training. You don't want to divide your energy at first until the website is completely set up and only requires content posts to keep up.

Thanks for the advice, I do appreciate it. I'm just not sure I can do this. I don't know that I can always come up with something to write, writing was never a good subject for me. I'm going to really give this more thought because I'm very unsure at this point.

Chris

Your link looks fine to me...your Amazon Associate site ID is mywebsite402d-20, right? The link on your page will take people to Amazon to make the purchase. In this case I'm taken to the page for "Electron 5 John Ellis Living Water Distiller".

If I were to buy it, or anything else on Amazon after following your link, you'd get the credit for it (assuming your link was the last one I followed and I buy withing 24 hours of following it).

Thank you

Any time.

You can always test your link by simply clicking them and seeing where they take you too. You can go "incognito" or use a private window to see exactly what your audience would see.

You'll want to place your affiliate links in the actual review itself so that they are in context and your reader can go directly from reading all the details about the product to now purchasing it. :)

Thank you

I purchased 2 domains but am not comfortable with transference just yet. My siterubix sites are not acceptable to me yet.

Yes, you can move on.

Remember the sequence of the course is highly recommended; however, you can deviate o return to task later on.

All the best
Maxine

Thanks Maxine. I will follow your advice as well.
Chris

You can, just keep track of the ones you skip so you can return and complete them later.

So in the same vein, I'm stuck on Level 2 - Task 5 - where you have to offer feedback on at least two other websites within the SiteFeedbackPlatform.

To be frank, I don't think I've reached the point, technically speaking, to give advice or comment. I'm having enough of a challenge trying to assemble my own website. And what I did see of others is that they look way better than mine.
So you think I can just move on and revisit this Feedback task later?

Yes, the whole idea behind that task is to introduce you to the tool and get you comfortable using it.

Hi Frank. I've moved on and continue to check back to see if I can give my second feedback comments. Since I have other websites that need to get going, that's what I am working on now. I've lived a versatile life, so the niches are just about what I'm familiar with. Maybe just reflecting on your life will help give you more insight. As far as the feedback is concerned. It doesn't have to be really technical. If you like the images then comment on that. If you like the storyline then comment on that. If you just like the subject, then comment on it. We're all learning and I feel anxious as well about this whole process. It's new to me as well. Hang in there and I will too. Best wishes to you. It'll get easier I think when the newness wears off and we settle down.
Chris

Thanks for the follow up Chris. Yes, I think I'll use your suggestions for site feedback. Thanks for helping out 🌴💦

Hi, Chris.

Yes, you can just tick the boxes and move on. Just refer back to where you were when you are ready to transfer.

Best wishes,

Steve.

Thanks Steve. Great advice which I'm following.
Chris

Yes Christine, of course you can move on to Lesson 3 Level 2. Though once you do purchase a domain name, don't forget to go back and check off that Task as having been completed.

Hope you find this helpful.

Hi, I did move on and bought domains. I also just got indexed by Google. I'm at a loss why because I don't have affiliates or products on my site. I'm following the training but I don't want to get too far ahead. I've gone on to Level 8 and just keep going back to check and see if I can do any feedback. Its been a week and I figure I'll just work on my other websites and try to get the posts going on them as well. Thanks for the advice.
Chris

Hey Chris,

All indexing of your website is, is letting you know that Google recognizes that your site now exists. Keeping up with the lessons is VERY important.

Here's another means for you to leave feedback so that task can be check marked as being completed: What is advisable to do is to scroll down and see who has yet to receive a comment. That way everyone wins.

Just remember that there is a difference between feedback and commenting. Here's a tutorial to help you distinguish the difference:
