Progress is oh so sweet!
I have been here at WA for 3 weeks now. I have been working 18 hour days. Not only at my regular job at the hospital, but as a mother and now here at WA! What a roller coaster of emotions. I am sure I have cried countless times (yes I am sometimes that emotional.. LOL), but through it all I still see the light at the end of the tunnel.
My niche is something close to my heart. Having the honer taking care of patients with Alzheimer's is the most rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. I have no regrets about this what so ever. Some days I literally left with battle wounds on my body from my patients having a "bad day," but I still left smiling knowing I made a difference in their lives. No matter how little it was. A bad day, can turn into an amazing day at the drop of a hat, and to know I was apart of that... well there is no greater joy for me.
Now, I get to share what I have learned with others... There is no greater joy then that either! As I continue on my new journey, knowing their memories are lost, they still live inside of me, their families and friends, and I get to spread the knowledge of Alzheimer's to everyone!
Stay humble everyone,
Billie Jean
