We are here at WA to build our on line businesses. We should be sharing what is working for us and what problems we are having.

We have WA leaders who are fantastic mentors. You can learn from them by studing their training, visiting their websites and reviewing their profile.

I can understand why people are reluctant to share personal information on the internet. Sharing to much information on the internet is never a good idea.

But, we are in business. We want people to find us, know what we do and how we can help them. Over 2000 WA members are following me. If they like what I have to say they are going to visit my profile (Just click on my picture) and learn about what I do. If we share common interests they will contact me and we can share what we are doing and look for ways we can work together.

If you fail to fill out your profile you are cutting yourself off from many potential business comntacts. Most of your profiles say you are newbies and need help but that is all.. How can we help you if we do not know what your interests are, what you want to accomplish and what problems your are having?

I am yet to build a successful internet business. I've been stupid and taken many wrong paths. WA has shown me the right path and I think I am finally making progress. Does that qualify me to advice others. That is up to you to decide.

I try to provide useful information - stuff that has helped me. We are not allowed to share business opportunities here at WA and that is a good thing. It keeps WA free from SPAM.

FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE. When you see someone here whose blogs you like lerave comments. Check the author's profile. I you have interests in common, send them a private message and strike up a conversation. You have to build a relatioinship before you even think about doing business together.

All my followers out their, bring your profiles up to date. Let me know what you are doing and what challenges you have that I can help you with.

I liked you very first paragraph where you state we gotta keep sharing what's working. And here at WA that's the way it uses to be, thanks to everyone who loves sharing. And remember: SHARING IS LEARNING!

The teacher learns more than the student. By sharing I document what I have learned and fix it more firmly in my mind.

Bill, you can give me advice all day long, I certainly need it. I think I have taken longer than anyone else I know to put up my website! I have no trouble with content, it is theme building that has been my stumbling block. I agree with you about profiles, and pictures or emblems of some sort, we have so many cars and puppies running around, I never know who I am talking to too. I have read your profile and wish you lived closer and could get the Department Fish and Wildlife out of my hair. But that is another story for another time I also am an advocate for resilient living. How are you doing in Hawaii, are the Lava flows a problem for you?
Sandy

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Bill

I thought you were going to go in a different direction with this when I read the title and 1st paragraph. wish you had.

There are lots of ways to go with that title. My point is that our profile helps people get to know us. Building relationships with others is the core of our business. Never overlook an opportunity to introduce yourself and get acquainted.

Maybe what I started has given you an idea for a blog post of your own. If you write it, let me know so I don't miss it.
Bill

it wasn't just the title but the 1st line. not really writing blogs for here these days ....

It is more interesting to see someones past experiences or a longer bio, so yes I agree it is nice to see the persons story.

You have an interesting profile. I looked at your website. You blog is interesting and I like your use of photos. Hamsters is an interesting niche and there are a lot of people out there who keep them.

How do you plan on monetizing your site? Have you researched your niche so you know what people are looking for?

Thank you Bill, the blog is actually on guinea pigs. But I do have one syrian hamster.

That is a good question. I am going to monetise on the one side of a bit of advertising. Then of course mainly the product links. Yes because of buying a lot of items for my guinea pigs, I have seen a lot of reviews on different products. I think the popular purchases for guinea pigs are hay, as this is vital for them and their habitats. The next popular purchases are going to be hideys like tunnels and fleece material is popular, like the bedding.

Thanks for sharing, Bill.

I agree with you. No one likes to look at a game piece (when a member doesn't add a picture) and only see "just here to earn money" as a bio.

There is so much potential when we see a face and know a little bit about a member.

Awesome post my friend.
Wishing you the best in all you do

Thanks, I had to write this because I responded to someone who followed me and couldn't find out anything about the person. Frustrating.

Excellent post.

Yes. Put the work in!

Great advice, Bill. We love reading people's bios and it is rather disappointing when there is just one sentence or only a few words. There is no way to connect. There are so many interesting folks here but we have to write a little bit about ourselves so we can learn from and help each other, right?
Thanks for this post.

Think about what it takes to build a business, Your relationship with people who need your help. How are you going to brand yourself or your business if you don't share your interests and experience with others.
