There is no best way to use the internet. We are told there are over 3 billion people using the net and they probably have 3 billion reasons for doing so.

People usually start using the net because they want to know something or they may want to share what they are doing with their friends.

A third of the U.S.A. workforce are freelancers. They work gig to gig. I have a friend who is currently working 12-16 hours per day 6 days per week building sets for a movie company. When the movie is completed he will be looking for another gig. How do potential employers know what he can do and what he has accomplished? They look on the internet. A smart freelancer will have a website and a social media presence that highlights their interests, expertise and accomplishments.

Businesses use the internet to attract customers and smart businesses use the internet to build top-of-mind relationships with their customers. How do they do that? They do it by staying in touch and providing their customers helpful information. Their websites don't sell products, they provide information about how interested customers can benefit from using a particular product. It is the difference between a used car salesman and a friend who helps you find the best vehicle for your needs.

You may want to use the internet to promote a particular cause. Most non-profit organizations use the internet to promote their cause. Politicians use the net attract followers who support their campaigns and are loyal voters. Academics share their work with colleagues and employees collaborate on projects. Often team members are living in various parts of the world and may never meet face-to-face.

Many people use the Internet to further their education. My grandson graduated from the University of Hawaii and took all his classes on line. He is now working on his Masters Degree.

I believe the first step to achieving my dreams is to achieve the financial freedom I must have to have the time and money needed to live my life my way. When I work for someone else, the boss is telling me what to do. When I work for myself, I am working to achieve my calling. I believe everyone needs an internet business. The internet business model allows you to build a business based on your interests and expertise. Start up costs are low and you don't have to worry about employees or inventory.
